Six in race to succeed CNA Ojo

Six senior management workers are jostling to succeed the outgone Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Olatunde Amos Ojo.

The Nation investigation revealed that the six officials include the Secretary to the Directorate of Finance and Accounts, Magaji Sani Tambuwal; Clerk to the Senate, Chinedu Francis Akubueze; and Clerk to the House of Representatives, Yahaya Danzaria.

Others are: Henrietta Aimua-Ehikioya, Baba Sanda and Basiru Yero.

The post became vacant yesterday Ojo proceeded on a three-month pre-retirement leave effective from Monday, November 14, 2022.

He is expected to officially bow out of service on February 14, 2023.

The CNA is the highest serving public servant in the National Assembly.

The National Assembly Service Commission had mandated Ojo to observe the pre-retirement leave in line with public service rules.

The commission also directed him to hand over to the next most senior officer in the National Assembly management.

The officer, according to the NASC, would perform the duties of the CNA in acting capacity pending the appointment a substantive CNA.

Investigation also revealed that there are three officials fit into this description.

They are: Magaji Sani Tambuwal, Felix Orumwense and Henrietta Aimua-Ehikioya.
