Six members of the Kano State House of Assembly loyal to the Kwankwasiyya group have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In their defection letter read by Speaker Alhassan Rurum, the lawmakers said they left the All Progressives Congress (APC) because it had failed to meet the aspiration and yearnings of the people.
The defectors, from six local governments are Yusuf Babangida Suliaman (Gwale); Rabiu Saleh (Gwarzo); Zubairu Mahmud (Madobi); Yusuf Abdullahi Falgore (Rogo); Hamza Sule Bichi (Bichi) and Isiaku Ali Danja (Gezaw).
Their defection makes PDP lawmakers in the House seven of the 40-member Assembly.
