The Executive Secretary, National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), Mr. Zacch Adedeji, has said the re-election of Governor of Nasarawa State and Chairman, Forum of Governors of Sugar Producing States, Abdullahi Sule, would attract more business investment especially in the agricultural sector.

Adedeji, in a congratulatory message to the governor, noted that Sule’ wealth of experience and competence would further aid the development of the agro-allied sector.

The executive secretary, who described Nasarawa state as one of the leading industrial states in the country, also called on indigenes of the state to cooperate and support Governor Sule as he commits himself to the task of putting the state on the path of economic development and industrialisation.

“Our governor needs your support to succeed. Election has come and gone. This is the time for everyone to come together in the interest of the state. He is not the governor of any political party. He is the governor of Nasarawa state, and ever ready to work with everyone regardless of party, religious or ideological backgrounds,” he said.

He added that Sule has elevated Nasarawa state from a mere agrarian state to a choice economic destination for globally recognised business conglomerates who have set up businesses in different parts of the state.

He urged the governor not to relent in his determination to turn around the socio-economic status of the state through sound economic policies, programmes, initiatives and genuine partnerships with the organised private sector, as seen in the last four years.

“Governor Sule has now been given the opportunity to consolidate and carry on with his “New Nasarawa” development agenda which has contributed to the economic, industrial and agricultural development of the state in the last four years.

“He is a man of pristine ideas, a great thinker, and an exemplary leader. He and his governor-colleagues who form the Forum of Governors of Sugar-Producing States are instrumental to some modest achievements recorded in the sector in the last four years.

“The Council values the inputs of the forum. We are confident that he will continue to make Nasarawa state the envy of other states in the country”, Adedeji added.
