The Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind Vocational Centre has solicited the support of public and corporate bodies for its inter-house sports holding today at the Yaba College of Technology Field.
Chairman of the centre Fola Osibo said: “The programmes we offer to the visually-impaired aims at their development physically, mentally, morally, socially and spiritually through sporting events as this.
“We want the public to know there is ability in disability. We don’t just rehabilitate people; we rehabilitate the mind as well.
“The sporting activities enhance the physical and social development of the trainees. When they do sports, they are physically fit and healthy. They develop the sense of social interaction with one another and the ability to compete in issues of life anytime.
“It is an ongoing activity through their stay at the centre.”
