Suspected cult members have allegedly killed a computer science student of the National Open University, Ilorin campus.
The deceased, 23, was named Mohammed Isiaka.
The incident, it was gathered, happened on Tuesday in Akerebiata area of the metropolis.
It was also gathered the attackers invaded the house of the victim and shot him in the chest.
Confirming the incident, Kwara Police Command Spokesman Ajayi Okasanmi said that policemen took the corpse to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) “where the victim was confirmed dead by a doctor on duty.
“The corpse of the victim had been deposited for autopsy.”
Okasanmi said that the command had “ordered a discreet and result-oriented investigation into the matter. “Kwarans, particularly residents of the area are advised to go about their lawful businesses as adequate security arrangements have been emplaced to forestall any revenge attack.”
The Command assured that the perpetrators of the heinous act would be fished out and prosecuted.
