The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Borno State yesterday said it had arrested three suspected members of the Boko Haram sect at the Maiduguri cattle market.
Commandant Ibrahim Abdullahi told reporters in Maiduguri, the state capital that two of the suspects were drivers and the last was their agent based in Maiduguri.
“You will recall that we raised the alarm that there are Boko Haram agents aiding activities of the group, especially at the Maiduguri cattle market, known as “Kasuwar Shanu”.
“They normally transport cows, sell at the market and transfer the proceeds to the insurgents,” Abdullahi said.
The commandant said the command was working with other security agencies to curtail Boko Haram activities, their sympathisers and collaborators in the country.
