    Nigeria international Aaron Samuel scored a brace for his Russian club side Amkar Perm on Saturday.

    Visiting Lokomotiv Moscow had shot into the lead in the 16th minute converting a penalty thanks to Manuel Fernandes but their celebration did not last long as Samuel equally converted a penalty for the home side in the 48th minute leaving the scoreline at 1-1.

    Both teams battled for supremacy and control of the midfield till the 59th minute when Samuel again broke loose to register the second goal which incidentally the home side maintained to the end of the match.

    Aaron who recently welcomed his second child it will be recalled signed a four and half year contract with CSKA Moscow early last year and proceeded to join FC Amkar Perm on loan until the end of the 2017–18 season.

    The former Shooting Stars ace has played for seven different local and foreign teams in the course of this career including Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F from where he  joined the Russian league. He made about 34 appearances for the Chinese club scoring 15 goals for the side. Samuel was initially tipped for call for the friendly ties against Poland and Serbia but missed out even as he remains hopeful of getting an opportunity in subsequent friendly matches leading to the World Cup in Russia.

    Super Eagles striker, Aaron Samuel, has said he hopes to seal a permanent contract with top Russian club, CSKA Moscow.

    Samuel, who is currently on loan at CSKA Moscow, has scored two goals in the Russian Premier League.

    The striker also expressed hope of recovering fully from his knee injury in September.

    “Yes I would like to stay,” he told africanFootball.com.

    “I would like to stay on but we just have to see how things turn out.”

    The striker also explained why it took him some time to get going in Russia.

    “I was new to the team and to the league and they had to introduce me gradually,” he added.

    Russian Premier League side, CSKA Moscow has announced the loan signing of Super Eagles striker, Aaron Samuel until end of the season, with option to make the move permanent in the summer.

    CSKA Moscow is Samuel’s fourth club outside Nigeria following spells with Vålerenga and Sarpsborg before he moved to the Chinese league, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

    Ahead of the resumption of the Russian Premier League, Samuel linked up with the Army men at the club training camp in Marbella, Spain last Tuesday.

    He has been handed the number 99 jersey for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

    Greek Super League side, AEK Athens, is considering making a move for Guangzhou R&F striker, Aaron Samuel, with just few days before the close of the winter transfer window.

    The club is seeking reinforcements in attack and the Nigeria international is one of the players on the club wish list.

    Samuel has impressed for Guangzhou R&F since he joined the Chinese team from Sarpsborg 08 in 2014, scoring 15 goals in 34 appearances this season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

    The General Manager of CSKA Moscow, Roman Babaev, has confirmed that the Army Men have been trying to sign Nigeria international Aaron Samuel since the January transfer market but Guangzhou R&F are playing hard ball over the transfer.

    As previously revealed by allnigeriasoccer.com, the Chinese club have refused to sell the striker for less than five million euros, a figure that is yet to be met by the Muscovites after months of negotiations.

    “We are interested and has been under scrutiny since last winter. We are dealing with him but the Chinese club is not willing to let him go, ” said Roman Babaev to sport – express.ru.

    “However, we also evaluate other candidates. ”

    Because of their poor league position, this website understands that Guangzhou R&F want to keep Samuel until they are sure of Super League safety.

    The Nigeria international is tied to the Yuexiushan Stadium outfit until December 2016.

    News24.com understands that CSKA Moscow and Guangzhou R&F continue to haggle over a transfer fee for Nigeria international Aaron Samuel.

    The Russian Premier League side have failed to meet the attacker’s five million euros buy-out clause after several months of negotiations but they have agreed to insert a 10 per cent sell – on fee on top of the 3.5 million euros that has been offered.

    Unlike some European teams, Guangzhou R&F are backed by real estate developers and don’t have cash flow problems, and are reluctant to do business with the Muscovites except they cough up 5 million euros.

    But CSKA Moscow power brokers are confident a deal is imminent, with the club instructing Aaron Samuel to start processing his visa to Russia.

    A five – year contract has been offered to the Guangzhou R&F frontman but the player and his intermediary have insisted that the duration of the agreement should be four seasons.

    The 21 year old has maintained his professionalism while talks are ongoing, and netted a brace in Guangzhou R&F’s 2 – 2 draw with Guizhou Renhe in the Super League on Thursday.

    Aaron Samuel was hotly linked with a move to Monaco in the winter of 2014 but the transfer failed to materialize.

    Guangzhou R&F striker Aaron Samuel has hinted that he will not be fit for his club’s next game in the Chinese Super League (CSL) against  Chongqing Lifan.

    The 21 – year – old had to make way for Watford attacker Odion Ighalo in the second half of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Chad on Saturday, and there had been suggestions that he had torn his muscle.

    When quizzed on his condition, Aaron Samuel told allnigeriasoccer.com on Sunday morning : “It is nothing serious, it’s just a cramp. I hope to resume training in the next 10 days.”

    So far this season, the ex-Dolphins of Port Harcourt starlet has featured in 8 CSL games, scoring twice .

    Speaking to Norwegian media, Super Eagles’ striker Aaron Samuel has confirmed that CSKA Moscow is interested in signing him from Guangzhou R & F.

    It had earlier been reported by local media that the 20 – year – old had agreed personal terms with the Russian champions, and both teams are locked in talks over a transfer fee.

    “Clubs have not reached agreement on the transition. Guangzhou R & F do not want to drop me and has not accepted the offer from CSKA Moscow.

    “I want to go to Russia. It will be good for me to come back to Europe. I think it is a possibility (they agree).

    “I would estimate the chances as 50/50,” said Aaron Samuel to the online edition of  Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad SA.no.

    Aaron Samuel has also claimed that clubs in Turkey and England are monitoring his situation.

    AFCON qualifier: Akpan, Samuel in Eagles’ starting XI

    Reading midfielder Hope Akpan and China-based striker Aaron Samuel will start for Nigeria against Sudan in Wednesday’s African Nations Cup qualifier in Abuja, africanFootball.com reports.

    It will be their full international debuts for Nigeria.
