    Kwara monarchs, APC, others hail AbdulRazaq’s performance

    Traditional rulers in Kwara State have described the achievements of Governor Abdulraman AbdulRazaq in the last six years  as scintillating.

    They added that the government has a listening ear.

    Emir of Lafiagi and Elerin of Erin-Ile Alhaji Kawu and Oba Adebowale Adesoye told our correspondent in Ilorin, the state capital on the sidelines of a prayer session  for the governor.

    The prayer was organised by the Special Adviser to the governor on Political Affairs, Moshood Alaka.

     Kawu praised the governor for always supporting the traditional institutions in the state.

    He said:  “As leaders of the people, we are here to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the governor. He has been very supportive of the traditional institutions. He has given us a listening ear.

    “He comes to us frequently for pieces of advice on issues that affect the people. He has done very well and we are here to pray for Allah’s continued guidance of him in the remaining two years left to complete his tenure.”

    ‘AbdulRazaq promoting conducive environment for learning, research’

    Acting Provost of Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, Mallam Jimoh Ibrahim, has hailed Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq for promoting an enabling environment for teaching, learning and research.

    Accordingly, the provost dedicated two awards received by the college’s Department of Dispensing Opticianry from the Optometrist and Dispensing Opticianry Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN) to the governor.

    Ibrahim said AbdulRasaq known for his visionary leadership and unwavering support for the education sector, made the feat possible.

    He said the college management would continue to work hard to take the college to a commendable level in the comity of professional colleges in the country.

    The college administrator said his colleagues were determined to attain excellence in health education and training, while continuing to connect to global innovations in all its courses and training.

    Ibrahim said the college would continue to produce job creators with sound moral content.

    Kwara South leaders hail AbdulRazaq

    Kwara South leaders, under the aegis of Kwara South Development Initiative (KSDI), have supported the political direction of Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq, ahead of the 2027 general election.

    The group hailed the governor, noting that it was supporting him based on his superb performance.

    KSDI in a communiqué at the end of its summit in Lagos State encouraged elected leaders from Kwara South Senatorial District to use their vantage positions to promote the development of “our recognised tourist attraction centres, either through direct government funding or through public/private partnership.

    “The forum advocates improved security in addition to what the present state and local governments are doing. It recommends strengthening of security in Kwara South with the involvement of traditional rulers, hunters and vigilantes and sharing of intelligence and upholding collaboration among local governments in Kwara South.”

    Kwara gov loses CoS

    Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has lost his Chief of Staff (CoS) Prince AbduKadir Mashe.

    The CoS passed on early in the morning of Saturday 28 December, 2024.

     In a statement, AbdulRazaq’s media aide Rafiu Ajakaye said: “In total submission to the will of Allaah, we regret to announce the passing of the Chief of Staff to His Excellency, Prince AbdulKadir Mahe.

     “The late CoS will be buried today at his residence on Moro Street, Adewole Estate, Ilorin, after the Asr prayer. The governor deeply mourns the death of Prince AbdulKadir Mahe, a perfect gentleman, community leader, urbane public servant, and statesman.

     “The governor commiserates with the Emir of Ilorin Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari; the immediate family of Prince AbdulKadir; government establishments; and cabinet members.”

     The statement added: “We ask for the understanding of everyone at this mournful period as the government and family mourn the quintessential public servant.

     “We pray that Allaah accepts his return, eases his accounts, admits him to al-Jannah Firdaus, and upholds his family upon goodness.”

    Tsaragi, Share land dispute: AbdulRazaq seeks peace

    Kwara State Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq has sued for peace between the Share and Tsaragi communities in Ifelodun and Edu Local Government Areas.

    The governor’s plea follows a recent land dispute around the Kange community, which borders Share and Tsaragi.

    Governor AbdulRazaq, during an emergency meeting with the Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwo, and the Olupako of Share, Oba Haruna Suleiman, high chiefs and other stakeholders from the two communities.

    AbdulRazaq, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Abubakar Bata, said the government would no longer tolerate civil unrest in the affected communities and the state at large.

    The governor urged the monarchs to prioritise their peoples’ welfare and build on the strength of their diversities through peaceful co-existence.

    He said: “I implore you royal fathers, high chiefs and stakeholders from the two communities to maintain peace because an enabling environment for economic and socio-cultural advancement can only be achieved when there is peaceful dialogue and tolerance.”

    The monarchs thanked the governor for facilitating the peace meeting, and making known grey areas on the disputed land.

    They also promised to that there will be no recurrence.
