    Workers’ Day: PDP Chieftain, Abidikugu felicitates Oyo workers

    A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Dr. Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu, has felicitated workers in the state on the occasion of Workers’ Day which is set aside to celebrate workers worldwide.

    Labour Day, observed annually on May 1, pays tribute to the unwavering spirit and contributions of workers worldwide, the day recognizes the struggles, sacrifices, and achievements of individuals who dedicate their lives to earning a living and supporting their families.

    A statement by Abidikugu, who was a PDP House of Representatives aspirant for the Ibadan southeast/northeast federal constituency in the build-up to the 2023 general election rejoices with workers, wishing them a peaceful and successful celebration.

    He urged the government to make workers’ welfare their priority and provide proper incentives that will aid workers to put energy in the services of their fatherland.

    Abidikugu, a Nigerian United Kingdom-based Psychiatric Consultant congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde for being a labour-friendly governor.

    He said: “I rejoice with the workers especially in Oyo state on this year’s occasion of Labour’s Day. I am part of their joyous occasion as an employer and lover of Labour.

    “I feel workers’ pain on the current hardship in the country but with our prayers, let’s be hopeful that the country will turn around for good in no distant time.

    “I equally called on governments at all levels to make the welfare of workers a priority because they are the pillars upon which a successful country can be built.

    “I Congratulate His Excellency, the Oyo state governor for being a workers’ friendly governor. Your prompt payment of salaries and pensions for the workers since you assumed office in 2019 has put you on a high pedestal among other governors.”

    PDP chieftain Abidikugu congratulates newly elected Oyo council chairmen, councillors

    A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State Dr. Kazeem Abidikugu has congratulated all the newly elected local government Chairmen and Councillors. 

    Local government poll held across the State last Saturday, which Governor Seyi Makinde described as a huge success.

    A statement by Abidikugu rejoiced with the new chairmen and councillors wishing them successful tenure. 

    He commended Governor Makinde for giving the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) all it needed to conduct free, fair and credible election.

    He applauded the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, for the political sagacity deployed in ensuring landslide victory for the party at the poll.

    He appreciated security agents as well as all the parties that participated in the election for ensuring a peaceful election devoid of violence.

    Abidikugu, who was a PDP House of Representatives Aspirant for Ibadan South East / North East Federal Constituency in 2023, said: “I congratulate all the newly elected local government council chairmen and councillors that emerged from the last Saturday election. 

    “I rejoice with you on the victory and want to implore you to carry out your duties with dignity and sense of honour. You should reciprocate the electorate’s good gesture in electing you by providing them with the dividends of democracy.

    “I also congratulate our leader and the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for providing a level playing ground for all candidates irrespective of their party affiliations.

    “I also applaud the Deputy National Chairman of our party, Abassador Taofeek Arapaja for his leadership qualities and political sagacity deployed in ensuring it was a landslide victory for the party at the poll on Saturday.

    “I also express my happiness with the orderly manner and the peaceful nature of the election and thank the governor for given all assistance to the state electoral commission to successfully carried out the election exercise”.

    Abidikugu, who is a UK-based Psychiatric Consultant, thanked the people of Ibadan and Oyo State for their cooperation with the PDP – led administration in the State.

    PDP chieftain Abidikugu felicitates Christians, seeks unity, peace

    A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Dr. Kazeem Adesina (Abidikugu) has felicitated with the people of Ibadan South East/North East Federal constituency and Nigerians particularly Christians as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

    He urged Christians to use the festive season to pray for unity, peace and prosperity of Oyo state and Nigeria.

    A statement by Abidikugu, who was the House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, called on Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity in line with the true teachings of Jesus Christ which emphasise tolerance, patience, brotherly kindness, care for the needy and love for one another, among other virtues.

    Abidikugu, who is a United Kingdom-based Psychiatric consultant, said: “I congratulate our Christian brothers and sisters on the Christmas celebration. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, I enjoin all to imbibe the spirit of true love and sacrifice for one another.

    “The Yuletide season presents us an opportunity once more to love, share and forgive. I urge all Nigerians to utilise the period to pray for unity, peace and prosperity in the nation.

    “The lessons of humility, selflessness, love and simplicity learnt from the birth of Jesus, should be our guiding principles.

    “We must also rededicate ourselves to the true virtues of faith in God, love for one another, honesty and peaceful co-existence. It is time to make these virtues more evident and practical in our daily lives.”

    “I urge all of us to spread love to our neighbours and remember the underprivileged as we celebrate Christmas. Let us all remember that it is a time to spread the love of Christ with family, friends, neighbours and the underprivileged in the society.”

    “We should bear in mind that the greatest command Jesus gave to his followers is to love one another. Not only does this have spiritual benefits, it will also make Nigeria a better place because love overcomes all things including hatred, violence and other vices.”

    “This season is another opportunity to increase our acts of kindness and touch the less privileged in our society.”
