    Abuja to host competition for budding entrepreneurs

    Abuja Investments Company Limited (AICL) is set to host a Youth Talent Hunt programme, offering over N6 million in cash prizes alongside access to mentorship, training, and investment opportunities.

    The competition, a partnership with the Abuja Enterprise Agency, aims to equip young innovators with the skills and resources to transform their business ideas into thriving enterprises. Targeting entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35, the event focuses on three key sectors: Information Technology, Agriculture, and Creative Enterprise.

    Participants will benefit from business plan training, presentation (pitch) skills coaching, and one-on-one mentorship from seasoned investors and industry leaders. Winners in each category will walk away with cash prizes of N1,000,000, N750,000, and N500,000 respectively, with additional access to investment funds and credit facilities worth millions.

    The five-phase programme runs from 20th August to 24th September 2025, beginning with a nationwide call for entries and culminating in a live Grand Finale, where finalists will pitch their ideas before a panel of expert judges. Post-event, participants will receive ongoing monitoring and networking opportunities to ensure business sustainability.

    Abuja Investments Company Limited seeks diplomatic support to unlock FCT investment potentials

    The Abuja Investments Company Limited (AICL) has called on diplomats to collaborate with the Nigerian Government to tap into Abuja’s investment opportunities. This development comes as AICL announces the upcoming Abuja Business & Investment Summit EXPO (ABISummit2025) scheduled to take place from October 21 to 25, 2025.

    According to Dr. Maureen Tamuno, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AICL, the summit aims to foster strategic partnerships, drive innovation, and unlock investment opportunities in key sectors. The event’s theme, ‘Empowering Sustainable Growth: Unlocking Potential in Emerging Markets,’ reflects AICL’s commitment to promoting sustainable growth and development in Abuja and Nigeria as a whole.

    AICL has also planned an investors’ forum in the United Kingdom for June 2025, which will provide a platform for connecting with European investors and showcasing Abuja’s investment opportunities.

    Speaking at the event, the Botswana High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Philda Kereng, and Colombia’s Honorary Consul in Nigeria, Amb. Maricel Romero, separately praised the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL) for the overwhelming success of the inaugural Abuja Business and Investment Summit.

    According to them, the summit’s achievement is a testament to the AICL’s efforts in fostering a conducive business environment and promoting investment opportunities in Abuja, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

    Also, the Consul General of Nigeria in New York, Amb. Abubakar Jidda acknowledged the pivotal role of diplomatic missions in promoting AICL’s initiatives and investment opportunities. He emphasised the importance of collaboration and strategic partnerships in driving economic growth and development in Nigeria’s capital city.
