    LASRRA hails Olasoju’s support for agencies

    The Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Adebayo Olasoju, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA).

    This, he said, is to enhance its operations in Isolo and ensure massive capture of residents’ biodata.

    Olasoju gave this assurance while receiving the General Manager of LASRRA, Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, at his office.

    He reiterated that the council’s sustained support for LASRRA and other state and federal agencies, was in furtherance of his administration’s policy of promoting mutually beneficial inter-governmental relationships for the benefits of residents.

    He praised the General Manager’s efforts at strengthening ties with local governments and stressed that the importance of residents’ registration for Lagosians could not be overemphasised.

    “Data is central to governance in our contemporary society, and we must commend the Lagos State Government for the foresight behind LASRRA. Just as the National Identification Number (NIN) is essential for all Nigerians, Lagos Identity Card (LAG ID) is equally important to all Lagosians. The benefits attached to it are immense, hence our administration’s continued efforts to mobilise residents to get registered,” Olasoju said.

    Adebiyi-Abiola explained that the visit was aimed at deepening partnership with the council authority to boost LASRRA registration within the LCDA.

    She commended the council chairman for his support for the agency’s activities, noting that LASRRA personnel in Isolo LCDA regularly relayed positive feedback about the council’s conducive work environment.

    The meeting was concluded with an agreement between the council authority and LASRRA to mobilise women, Community Development Committee (CDC) leaders, and other key stakeholders across the LCDA for a sensitisation campaign scheduled for Friday.

    Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairman Adebayo Olasoju, has inspired youngsters at a career and lifestyle development program organised by Promasidor Nigeria Limited.

    The event, tagged ‘Harness Your Dream’, is aimed at providing robust guidance and mentorship for young individuals.

    The event had in attendance the management of Promasidor Nigeria Limited led by the Managing Director, Mr. Francois Gillet among other notable individuals.

    As one of the guest speakers at the event, held at the Multipurpose Hall of Oshodi-Isolo, Olasoju emphasized the importance of self-discovery and self-belief for future leaders, urging the participants all of whom are Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 pupils selected across public schools to identify their passions and set goals in life.

    Sharing his personal experiences and political trajectory, Olasoju advised them never to let their background or circumstances limit their imagination or aspirations, stressing that no dream is too big or too small to achieve.

    Highlighting education as a major pathway to a bright future, the council boss urged the youngsters to remain focused on their studies and strive for excellence in their examinations, assuring them that diligence and discipline always yield lasting rewards.

    “Your journey to greatness in life begins with self-discovery and believes in your capabilities. Set ambitious goals starting with your academics by coming out with flying colors. As a government, we are doing all we can to support your educational pursuit and we won’t spare any expense. Tertiary education has been made a lot easier. The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), an initiative of the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government is there for you take advantage of. The onus is on you to make every investment made by government, your parents and even Promasidor; our host today, count as it’s our desire to see you become great in life,” Olasoju said.

    The council boss referenced some individuals who are doing well for themselves as he urged the pupils to take a cue from their success stories as motivation.

    He thanked Promasidor for the laudable initiative, noting that the event aligns with his administration’s robust educational policy.

    Isolo Council chair gives 15-year-old Quran competition winner N1m

    The Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Adebayo Olasoju, has given N1 million to Master Ridwan Isiaq, the 15-year-old Quran competition winner.

    Master Isiaq emerged winner during the 5th Annual Quranic Competition in honour of the late Alhaja Wasilat Ayinde-Marshal, daughter of Fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal.

    The competition, jointly organised by Ilerioluwa Organisation and Penckers Schools, was held at the school premises, Isolo.

    The highly competitive event saw young Quran reciters challenging themselves in Quranic memorisation and melodious recitation.

    Isiaq, in the first category, beat Mu’az Bada and Yusuf Abdul-Muqsit, to second and third, respectively. The runners-up smiled home with N500,000 and N250,000 each, while other participants went home with N50,000 each.

    The second category where candidates contest for voice sonority saw Mustopha Ajibola AlBaazily and Al-Amin Mas’ud sharing the first spot, while Adam Abdullah and Abdusalam Ali came second and third, respectively, winning N500,000, N250,000, and N150,000.

    Other attendees, mostly students of Daaru Dawat Wal-Irshad Islamic & Arabic Institute, also went home with mouthwatering prizes such as cash gifts, 10kg Bags of Rice, Ankara fabrics and other items. Olasoju, who is the sole sponsor of the event, explained that the programme was designed to promote the legacy of piety, reverence to Almighty Allah, love, and altruism of the late daughter of the Fuji maestro, as well as to encourage young Muslims to seek knowledge of Allah.

    He congratulated the winners and all the participants, reiterating that the competition was meant to encourage their zeal to draw closer to Allah and be exemplary to their peers.

    The event featured a special Fidau prayer for the late Wasilat, as well as for the late Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru  Agbabiaka, who graced the event and featured prominently last year.

    Chairmen of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Fatai Ayoola and Iba LCDA, Yisa Jubril, praised Olasoju for sustaining his efforts in organising the event every year and expressed their delight in contributing to its success this year.
