    Your votes will ensure good governance, Adelami tells electorate 

    Ondo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, has called on the electorate to massively turn out and cast their votes to promote good governance.

    Adelami, who is the running mate of Gov.

    Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the state, made the call after casting his vote at his Unit 16, Ward 3, Igboroko 2 in Owo Local Government area on Saturday.

    Speaking with newsmen after exercising his civic duty, the deputy governor asked residents of Owo and the entire people of the state to come out to vote.

    “Your vote is your power. I urge you all to come out to vote.

    ” In so doing, you will be contributing to the promotion of good governance and a greater Ondo State” Adelami said.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that at 9:40a.m., Adelami, and members of his immediate family, joined a queue of voters waiting to be accredited to cast their votes.

    Aiyedatiwa/Adelami campaign tour attracts crowd in Ondo West

    Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, received massive reception when their campaign train arrived in Ondo West Local Government. 

    Thousands of supporters gathered celebrating the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidates with chants, dances, and acrobatics throughout the community.

    The visit featured three major events which include a rally, visit to the Osemawe and Paramount Ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Dr. Victor Kiladejo, and inauguration of an ultra-modern public motor park.

    During the visit to the palace, Oba Kiladejo praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s exemplary leadership and reaffirmed the confidence of Ondo Kingdom in his continued vision to drive development across the state.

    The Osemawe assured Aiyedatiwa of his and his people’s support, encouraging the Governor to sustain his progressive initiatives.

    Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Governor Aiyedatiwa pledged never to take the support of Ondo Kingdom for granted. 

    He highlighted his administration’s commitment to transforming Ondo West and called on the people to mobilise and cast their votes in his favour on November 16. 

    The Governor outlined plans to prioritise Ondo West in future infrastructural projects, urging residents to back his vision with their votes.

    At the inauguration of the new motor park at Ife Garage, Governor Aiyedatiwa lauded Hon. Makinde’s dedication to his constituency. He praised Makinde’s impactful projects, which serve both his Federal Constituency and the wider Ondo State community.

    Aiyedatiwa, highlighted his administration’s efforts, hinting the ongoing recruitment of health professionals to serve across the state’s 203 wards.

    At Litaye and Laje, while addressing party faithful, governor Aiyedatiwa assured the crowd that their communities’ needs are well recognised and will be prioritised by his administration.

    The Governor emphasised that these needs would be addressed in due course, explaining that his administration is committed to delivering essential projects and improvements that reflect the community’s aspirations.

    He said: “Every concern you’ve raised is important to us, and each has been carefully noted. Our mission is to ensure that every community feels the impact of this government, and I’m here to personally ensure that we understand and act on your needs.”

    11 things to know about Ondo Deputy Governor nominee, Adelami

    Olayide Owolabi Adelami, the nominee for the position of deputy governor of Ondo State, is scheduled to undergo screening before the Ondo State House of Assembly on Thursday, January 26.

    The speaker of the Ondo Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, announced this during Wednesday’s plenary after reading a letter from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

    Oladiji said the governor acted in line with Section 191(3) b&c of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

    Here are 11 things to know about the new Ondo deputy Gov nominee

    1. Chief Adelami who hails from Owo, Owo local government area

    2. He was born over six decades ago to the family of Oluka Oribokun by Pa and Mrs Amos Adelami.

    3. Adelami was an APC governorship aspirant in 2020 but stepped down for the late Akeredolu.

    4. He was first enlisted into the Federal Civil Service as an Accountant II in December 1983

    5. Adelami retired as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly l in April 2018.

    6. He graduated from the prestigious Imade College in Owo before proceeding to The Polytechnic, Ibadan for his GCE A level

    7. He later went to the University of Lagos for his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He further got an MBA degree from Ogun State University.

    8. In 1988 he was later posted to the National Assembly Provisional Office, Abuja as one of the pioneer staff of the Constituent Assembly which metamorphosed into the present-day National Assembly.

    9. In 1996, he was invited to help in setting up the Accounts Department of the Petroleum Special Trust Fund.

    10. In 2014, he was promoted to the position of Secretary (Permanent Secretary) at the Directorate of Procurement, Estate and Works. A position he held until he was appointed as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly.

    11. He also served at the Family Support Trust Fund as head of the Finance and Accounts Department between 1996 and 2000.
