2026: Adeleke’s nepotism, incompetence will speak against PDP— Osun Unity Forum

…2026 is going to be a walkover for Adeleke — Osun Govt.

A socio-political group under the aegis of Osun Unity Forum within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, describing it as nepotistic and warning that his style of governance could lead to his ouster in the 2026 gubernatorial election.

The group has commenced grassroots mobilization of new voters, including youths and students, to rally support for the APC ahead of the election.

Speaking to journalists at the APC State Secretariat in Osogbo on Wednesday, the group’s Convener, Barrister Bimbo Amusan, accused Governor Adeleke of focusing development efforts solely on his hometown, neglecting other parts of the state in the process.

He said: “All the development by the administration of Adeleke is concentrated in Ede, we will just wake up one day to realise that the state capital has been moved from Osogbo to Ede. All these will cause people to revolt against his government.

“Every four years, new people cross the voting age, we are going to focus on them for the support of our party. Donald Trump emerged as the President despite that he is old because he mobilised newcomer voters to vote for him.

“We have people who are student union leaders, youths amongst other, we are catching newcomers. We are working assiduously to get many youths to our fold. These are the best type of people to give the right orientation on the type of political association they should keep or have. We are using approach of technocracy to help them understand that politics is beyond just jamboree, politics is and intellectual endeavor.”

Reacting to the group, Osun State Government through the Information Commissioner, Kolapo Alimi described the claims by the group as mischievous.

He highlighted projects that are ongoing across the state by Adeleke.

“2026 is going to be a walkover for Senator Ademola Adeleke because he is paying all the salaries owed by APC government and completing abandoned projects,” he said.

The Nation reports that Ganduje, after Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the winner of Ondo State governorship election, said the push to take over Oyo and Osun states controlled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had begun.

“As a well-read politician, one would have expected Dr Ganduje to know that electoral contests depend mostly on local indexes and factors and that what obtains in Edo and Ondo is surely different from political facts on ground in Osun State.

“Local permutations, grievances and interests dictate how people vote, rather than superimposed force,’’ the spokesperson noted, citing the failure of the APC leader to win Kano State governorship election for his party.”
