    Adeniyi Ifetayo gets honour from Myles Leadership University

    Media personality, Adeniyi Ifetayo, has been conferred with an honorary Doctor of Media and Communication degree by Myles Leadership University (MLU).

    This, according to the institution, is in recognition of his exceptional contributions to academia and the media industry.

    The conferment ceremony, held in Ghana on March 20, celebrated Dr. Ifetayo’s scholarly dedication and impactful research in media and communication studies. 

    Dr. Ifetayo’s doctoral journey, supervised by MLU Vice-Chancellor Dr. K. Ravi Acharya, culminated in a thesis that advanced critical discourse in media studies.

    The degree was unanimously approved by the university’s Board of Trustees, Council, and Senate, affirming his fulfillment of rigorous academic requirements.

    In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ifetayo, who is the president of the Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria, emphasized his commitment to driving societal change through education. “My mantra, inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s timeless words, is to ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,” he stated.

    The ceremony also featured a keynote address by Dr. Mark Darko, President of the Africa International Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who underscored the urgency of visionary leadership across the continent. Among fellow honorees were Dr. Chidinma Anne Ojeh (Business Development Manager, Sovereign Finance Limited); Dr. Remi Olumuyiwa (Chairman, First Tricon Limited); Amb. Dr. Princess Caroline Ene (Founder, Unique Global Peace Initiative of Nigeria); and Dr. Nick Wedge Wento (Chairman, Wento Group of Companies).

    Publisher urges Nigerians to contribute to development

    Publisher of Mega Star Magazine, Adeniyi Ifetayo, has urged Nigerians to give back to the community for national development.

    He spoke during Mega Star Man of the Decade Awards in Abuja.

    Ifetayo, executive producer of the awards, said it was to honour and celebrate excellence in individuals, private organisations and agencies adding value to Nigeria.

    He said: “So, we are here to say thank you to them and to use their story to inspire the younger generation. What I want to say is anywhere you are, just be a value-driven person.

    “You don’t wait until you become governor or you become president. Anywhere you are, you are governing on your own right. So, wherever you are, make sure you are adding value because it is in service that you can get satisfaction.”

    He said the event, held annually, has had a positive impact on society.

    “So far it has shaped society for the better. The first one I did was about 10 years ago and it has made social impact. That’s what we want to do. We just want to use it to inspire people. Regardless of where you are, you can make an impact.

    “We are here to celebrate and reward individuals, corporate organisations and agencies making impact at home and abroad.

    “We are here to also say you can do something small or great to bring joy and add value to your community regardless of position,” he said.

    He lauded nominees and winners for their hard work, passion and commitment.

    An awardee, Pacesetter Schools in Abuja, expressed gratitude for the honour.

    The Chairman, Pacesetter Schools, Ken Imansuangbon, said they were inspired to do more and called on Nigerians to always to contribute to the development of the country.

    Adeniyi Ifetayo gets honours in Canada

    Renowned Nigerian luxury and lifestyle journalist, Adeniyi Ifetayo Moses, has been honored with the ‘Excellence in Journalism’ award at The Headlamp Awards in Canada.

    The recognition was held during the Afro Commerce Connect event in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The event, organised by CrossRoads of Culture, centred around the theme “African Diaspora Startups,” aiming to help entrepreneurs navigate opportunities and challenges in Canada.

    The award ceremony took place at The Conservatory City Hall, where Ifetayo was celebrated for his nearly two-decade-long career in journalism.

    In his acceptance speech, Ifetayo expressed his surprise and gratitude, stating, “Thank you to the organisers of this prestigious award for finding me worthy. I did not expect to be recognized here at all. I only came to represent my principal. This recognition means a lot to me, and I promise to continue to put in the work in service to society.”
