Former Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Adetunji Orisalade has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to eschew whatever ill-feelings, bitterness and rancor from the primary election campaign.

In a statement Orisalade said it is now necessary to concentrate on the great mission of getting the party united to rout the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) away from the political landscape of the state.

“The task ahead of us as a party is a very great one that cannot be undertaken and accomplished by Dr JK Fayemi and his supporters alone. It is a collective task for the entire party and it must be done.

“This is our common goal and interest as a party and all hands must be on deck for a successful outing comes July 14, 2018. Henceforth, all disparaging and negative comments about our flag bearer must cease.

“Our party, the APC still stands out as the greatest alternative to the PDP in Ekiti State and we must utilise this golden opportunity well. I commend the earnest and early efforts of Dr JK Fayemi in commencing the process of re-uniting the party with the extension of love to fellow aspirants in his acceptance speech coupled with the solidarity visits to them.

“This process should equally be taken up by other elders, leaders and members alike. We are one Great family and we must act as one so as to continue to be relevant politically,” Orisalade stated.

Stop demanding and receiving money for votes – Orisalade

The immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Honourable Adetunji Orisalade had admonished Nigerian voters to stop demanding and receiving money or any form of gratification and inducement before voting during elections.
According to the former legislator, the unwholesome practice corrupts the electoral system and allows for the election of misfits, who eventually abandons the electorates and caters for their own private and family needs.
” Once an aspirant or candidate settles would-be voters upon demand, he or she naturally feels no further obligation towards them and goes about as if he or she had taken care of all that concerns them,” Orisalade noted.
He advised voters to vote for people they know too well and who could solve the problems besetting them and their communities and not for unknown money bags.
He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to fund and reorganise the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to take the battle against Corruption to the remotest part of the country whilst at the same time re – orientate Nigerians on Federal Government Policies and it’s implementation so far.
The legal luminary pleaded for the understanding by Nigerians on the happenings of the moment and assured that President Buhari would surely put live up to the expectations of the people.

  • ‘Fayose’s election must not stand’

A former Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adetunji Orisalade, has insisted that justice must prevail on the alleged rigging of the June 21, 2014 governorship election in the state.

In a statement released to journalists in Ado Ekiti, the state capital on Thursday,  Orisalade urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the judiciary to intervene and ensure that justice is done on the matter.

The ex-deputy speaker, who represented Ido/Osi 2 Constituency in the Fourth Assembly between 2011 and 2015, said his appeal became necessary following the revelations made by a former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Dr. Tope Aluko.

Orisalade, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Badagry Branch,  Lagos, maintained that the structures produced by that election must not be allowed to stand because of the alleged “judicial coup” against the people of Ekiti by agents of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

He said Aluko deserves commendation rather than vilification for saying the truth on what transpired during the poll.
