Probe Oshiomhole, Air Peace face-off, Agbomhere urges Keyamo

The South South Zonal Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Blessing Agbomhere, has called called on the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to direct the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to  investigate the faceoff between  Senator Adams Oshiomhole and the management of Air Peace Airline in order to save Nigeria’s local air services from being turned into a bastion of inefficiency and corruption.

He also called on the NCAA to wake up from its long slumber, saying the world has gone beyond Nigeria’s poorly regulated Airline industry which gives local operators the leeway to delay, cancel and roundtrip tickets purchased by unsuspecting customers, thereby denying them the opportunity to travel on schedule, without any sort of sanction on erring

    Airlines by the regulator.

Agbomhere made the call in a statement in Abuja, in reaction to the shoddy treatment meted out on Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, by the management of Air Peace airline who denied the Senator the opportunity of flying back to Abuja from Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) of the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos despite checking in online and arriving at least 25  minutes before the departure of his 6:30 am flight on Wednesday.

Agbomhere described the attitude of Air Peace as unjust, insensitive and a violation of the laws and regulations guiding operations in the aviation industry, adding that it is a continuation of the Airline’s lawless and chaotic operations which should no longer be tolerated by Nigerians.

“I am compelled to address the distressing incident involving Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Air Peace Airline, seeing that the airline is tending to be above the law and notorious for “eye service” humanitarian services carried out by its Chairman, Allen Onyema all in a bid to perpetually cover up their atrocious poor treatment of Nigerians.

“There are several reports by Nigerians against the airline but these complaints keep being swept under the carpet and thereby emboldening the airline to continue acting as if there is no regulator in the sector in Nigeria.

“This has to stop and if it takes the poor treatment of Senator Oshiomhole to stop the nefarious activities of Air Peace, then I’m sure that even the former Governor of Edo state is willing to make that sacrifice.

“It is also disheartening to note that the airline was bold enough to release a statement with deliberate falsehood stating that the Senator arrived the airport 20 minutes late, an obvious lie that should have been spotted by its Chairman who has in recent times taken up the role of an activist and freedom fighter akin to Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as VeryDarkMan, but who cannot spot the wicked and inhuman treatment perpetuated right under his nose by his Airline.

“While calling for a total overhaul of NCAA, I am also issuing a one week ultimatum from the day of the release of this statement to the management of Air Peace to take action by carrying out an immediate investigation into the matter and sanctioning all its staff involved in the incident.

“The Airline should also tender an unreserved apology to Senator Oshiomhole for the distress and embarrassment caused him and ensure that it improves its customer care service for the interest of the flying masses,” he said.

Agbomhere to EFCC: Tompolo a patriot, law-abiding citizen

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been asked to remove the name of the founder of Tantita Security Services Limited, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, from its X Handle over alleged abuse of the Naira.

The Principal Partner at Blessing Agbomhere and Partners, Dr Blessing Agbomhere, made the call in a letter to the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, according to a source close to the commission who disclosed the development under condition of anonymity in Abuja.

Agbomhere who is the South South Zonal Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the invitation to Tompolo as unnecessary, as the individual in question has not committed any offence known to law.

The EFCC in a letter dated 12th May 2025, invited Tompolo to appear on the 19th of May at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja to answer questions on his alleged involvement in naira abuse during his (Tompolo’s) 54th birthday anniversary celebration in April.

However in reaction, Dr. Agbomhere, lawyer to Tompolo, was said to have written a letter urging the EFCC to withdraw the said invitation letter, and remove his name from their X-Account.

He insisted that there was no evidence to show that Tompolo stepped on the Naira notes as alleged, but was rather seen in the video waving at the individual spraying him with the notes to stop.

He averred that the invitation handed to Tompolo by the EFCC was merely the result of baseless allegations spurred by social media warriors notorious for online bullying and cyberstalking, who want to pitch the EFCC against Tompolo.

“As we speak, Tompolo is the reason why the Nigerian economy is not comatose, he has and continues to mobilize his company vigorously in protection of Nigeria’s critical assets such as it’s oil pipelines, which were before now vandalized at will.

“In fact, we are appealing to the EFCC to withdraw the invitation and pull down all ancillary comments on the matter posted on all its social media accounts against a law-abiding citizen,” the letter reads in part.

“Unarguably, High Chief Oweizidei Thomas Ekpemupolo is a law abiding citizen of Nigeria, who knows, obeys, and who will not do anything to breach the Law. High Chief is a true patriot, who is doing everything to protect the economic wealth and critical national assets of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Niger Delta, and will not do anything to dishonor the same system he is protecting even at the cost of his private peace and safety.

“As the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission works tirelessly to protect our economic wealth, national image and the values of national integrity, it should not succumb to emotions and blackmail of social media bandits who only find joy in cyberbullying, cyberstalking and bad-mouthing our institutions.

“Respectfully, we appeal that you use your good office to look into the allegation, wave it off as a foul cry of idle minds who derive pleasure from pulling down those who are working for the good of our nation, while you reconsider this with a view to pulling the statement against our Client down from the official X handle of the Commission.

“Even as we make this passionate appeal to you sir, on behalf of Chief Tompolo, we want, however, to commend your sense of duty and uncompromising stand you have taken in the advocacy and war against Naira abuse which has resulted in the conviction of highly placed Nigerians who act deliberately in breach of the law,” he added.

  • Edo North marginalised, deserves APC’s gov ticket, says Agbomhere

Edo North marginalised, deserves APC’s gov ticket, says Agbomhere

The South South Zonal Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Blessing Agbomhere has called on the leadership of the party to give the governorship to an aspirant from Edo North.

Agbomhere argued that the zone had been marginalised in the politics of the state.

He said: “Edo Central (Esan) had produced two Governors in the persons of Prof. Ambrose Alli and Prof. Oserhieme Osunbor, Edo South (Benin) has produced four Governors in the persons of Chief Samuel Ogbemudia, Chief John Oyegun, Chief Lucky Igbinedion and Mr. Godwin Obaseki while Edo North has only produced one governor in the person of Adams Oshiomhole.

“From the above records, who is being marginalised in Edo State? Are the Edo North People not being marginalised?”

He also warned against the introduction of tribal sentiments by aspirants from any of the contending political parties in the election.

In a letter to the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje and President Bola Tinubu Agbomhere condemned what he described as a plot to foment crisis in the state by some disgruntled Edo sons who he said have tried unsuccessfully to attract the endorsement of the former governor of Edo state, Senator Adams Oshiomhole.

He said: “We will not allow anybody or group of persons, under any guise or tribe, whether from Edo South, North or Central to blackmail our leader, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole for the sake of supporting or not supporting a governorship aspiration.

“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has paid his dues in Nigeria, and has made so much sacrifices for Edo people to a level that any attempt to tarnish his reputation by any person or group of persons under the pretense of fighting for a particular tribe will not be tolerated by the generality of Edo people.

“Before Adams Oshiomhole became Governor of Edo State, the State had Governors Samuel Ogbemudia, John Oyegun and Lucky Igbinedion, who made Pastor Andrew Ize-Iyamu a de facto governor during his administration – all were governors from Benin (Edo South).

“Despite these men wielding enormous power, Benin City and Edo State in general were referred to as an ancient city and state by the rest of the world because of the level of stagnation, backwardness and retrogression that defined the State.

“Oshiomhole came as an institution after retiring as the nation’s icon of workers’ welfare and good governance in Nigeria. He challenged the governance system in Edo State. He fought to get the opportunity to rescue Edo State from the cabal that held the state hostage. The election was a fierce battle. The cabal that held Edo State hostage, rigged the election and stole his mandate. A new battle started. He defeated the establishment. He won. He was sworn in as the Executive Governor of the State in November 2008.

“Adams Oshiomhole and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rescued the state from ‘those’ who never wanted Edo State to develop; ‘those’ who made the world accuse Benin and Edo girls of being prostitutes and ‘those’ who chased Benin and Edo youths to various states in Europe, by going through the nightmares of the Sahara desert and the Mediterranean Sea to escape the cabal-inflicted penury, in search of greener pasture.”

Edo governorship poll: Agbomhere begs Ganduje for endorsement

The south-south zonal organising secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Blessing Agbomhere has appealed to the leadership of the party to reward his loyalty with the party’s ticket for Edo state governorship election.

He made the appeal in a letter addressed to the national chairman of APC, Umar Ganduje.

Agbomhere said his appeal to be given the party’s ticket for the election was not out of place as it was in the habit of President Bola Tinubu to reward loyalty.

He said he would apply Edo resources to the development of the state if elected governor.

Agbomhere said: “It is common knowledge that despite all the antics and betrayal by some politicians in Edo state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu won the Presidential election in the state. Examining the three Senatorial Districts that make up Edo State, Bola Tinubu got 88,527 votes in Edo North (Afenmai), 38,392 votes in Edo South (Benin) and 17,558 votes in Edo Central (Esan).

“The people of Edo North, under the leadership of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda and voted for Senator Bola Tinubu to emerge the president of Nigeria. Edo North gave the highest number of votes to Bola Ahmed Tinubu to win.

“As the South-South Organising Secretary, I worked hard to ensure we won. Thank God, Bola Ahmed Tinubu rewards commitment and loyalty to the Party. By demonstrating loyalty to the party and commitment to Bola Tinubu’s victory, I, Blessing Agbomhere from Edo North, and the Highest Ranking Party Officer in the race, deserve and merit the Governorship Ticket of the Party.

“Amongst other committed leaders and members of the Party, as the South-South Zonal Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, I worked committedly and dedicatedly, across all the Wards in the South-South, Edo and Edo North in particular to ensure victory for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor Bassey Otu.”

The Edo State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, after their joint meeting on the 30th of November, appealed to Agbomhere to join the race for the governorship seat, citing his educational qualifications, political clout and massive contribution to the growing fortunes of the APC in Edo state as reasons for their clarion call.

Agbomhere,  thanking the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Edo State chapter for their zeal and commitment in ensuring that Edo State “breathes a fresh air of good governance once again,” admitted that he has all it takes to mount the saddle of leadership at Osadebey House.

He said it was high time Edo State rejoined the APC leadership at the Federal level, adding that the “opportunistic tendencies of the administration of Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shuaibu who left the party to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is highly regrettable, insisting however that it is time to correct the abnormally.”

Agbomhere said as a total party man, he is ready at all times, if given the opportunity to steer the ship of leadership, to prove that the APC remained the best option for the people of Edo state.

He promised to reconfigure the state back to the “prosperous path created by the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole administration which he said has remained unmatched in the history of the state.”
