Taraba govt agrees to pay FC Taraba players

The Taraba State government has tabled an undertaking to the League Management Company (LMC) to pay players of FC Taraba salaries running to over 11 months.

The LMC has warned Taraba will be docked six points if the government failed to pay the players.

“We have an undertaking from the state government, who are the real owners of the club, that they will pay their players what is owed them. What is most crucial is that the players receive what they worked for and we are on track to making this possible,” said LMC chairman  Shehu Dikko.

Taraba are second from bottom of the league table with 30 points from 31 matches, six points from safety with six rounds of matches to be played till the end of the season.

Most of the clubs in the Nigeria top-flight league have defaulted in the payment of salaries and other allowances because they are financed by state governments, who have fallen on hard times and so could not even pay the salaries of their civil servants, needing a bailout from the Federal Government to do so.

    Bulbwa agrees N184m Esperance deal

Esperance have reached an agreement with Shuttle Sports Academy, Lagos for Nigeria Under-20 international Bernard Bulbwa to join the club on a five-year deal in the summer.

And this has ended speculation over the future of the Flying Eagles midfielder, with reports in the British media suggesting that Stoke City had attempted to hijack the deal from The Blood and Gold.

In spite of the fact that negotiations have been concluded in theory, Esperance can’t officially announce the signing of the 18-year-old because the transfer window is closed for business until the first week of July.

SL10.ng can exclusively report that Bernard Bulbwa is guaranteed $920,000 (equivalent of N184 million) excluding performance related add-ons if he remains at The Stade El Menzah, Tunis until June 30, 2020.

In his first two years at Esperance, the 18-year-old will earn $150,000 per season while he’ll receive $170,000 and $200,000 in the third and fourth year respectively.

In the last year of his contract, Bernard Bulbwa’s salary has been set at a quarter of a million dollars. Based on his itinerary, he was supposed to return to Nigeria on Monday, but that date is not cast in stone because of his invitation to the Nigeria Under-23s.

    Bonke agrees terms with Lillestrom

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Norwegian Tippeligaen campaigners Lillestrom have secured the services of former Golden Eaglets invitee Innocent Bonke.

While this information is not yet official, sources close to the player and his management team have told allnigeriasoccer.com that he penned a 41-month contract tying him to the Canaries until December 31, 2017.

Bonke, a defensive midfielder, impressed officials of Lillestrom while undergoing trials in March.

And if not for the problems that would have been encountered in obtaining a work permit, the Aråsen Stadion outfit would have completed his signing before the Norwegian transfer window closed for business on March 31.

Top Nigerian scout Udia Attai, better known as Atta Aneke’s right hand man in Nigeria, discovered Innocent Bonke during a tournament held in Kaduna in January before recommending that he should be tested at LSK.

For the remainder of this season, the highly rated starlet will wear the number 18 shirt.

    Martins agrees N1.2b MLS deal

:  To get N160m as bonuses for goals scored

Reports out of Spain are suggesting that Obafemi Martins and Major League Soccer side, Seattle Sounders have agreed on a three-year, N1.4 billion ($2.5 million per year) contract, with an option for an addition year.

Martins could also reportedly earn an additional N160m ($1 million) in bonuses for goals scored, for objectives in both the CONCACAF Champions League and the League, potentially making it a $3.5 million per year deal, far greater than his current salary.

The Nigerian striker was signed on a free transfer from Russian sidem Rubin Kazan last summer, and he has seen a career that many though was dead, revived, as he blasted goal after crucial goal for the Valencia side.

Rumours of a rift over non payment of agreed fees and salaries by Levante however, meant that the former Inter Milan and Newcastle striker was getting restless with the La Liga side.

Martins’ contract with Levante has a N603m (€3 million) release clause, with the Nigerian reportedly standing to collect N201m (€1 million) out of it, when the deal is finally completed.
