The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has given posthumous award to late Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Isaac Adeyemo Boladuro.
According to the Police, Boladuro was recognised for his outstanding contribution to sports development at local and international scene while alive.
The award was received by the late AIG’s wife, Mrs. Taye Boladuro, and son, Olajide Boladuro, who is the Director-General of Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board at the closing ceremony of the biennial Nigeria Police Games in Ibadan, tagged: “Oluyole 2024.”
Mrs. Boladuro expressed gratitude for the honour, noting her husband’s passion for sports would live on through his legacy and the awards that bear his name.
Boladuro’s family thanked Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force PPRO who ensured that the honour came to reality, describing it as a fitting tribute to Boladuro’s memory because it would serve as a reminder of his legacy.
Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun stressed the importance of sports as a tool for social development and nation building.

He highlighted the Force’s commitment to investing in sports as a key aspect of its strategic priorities.
Chairman, Police Service Commission, Solomon Arase who was among officers that worked with late Boladuro gave kudos to his late boss.
Also present at the ceremony was the immediate past IGP, Alhaji Alkali Baba and other dignitaries, who paid tribute to Boladuro’s outstanding service and commitment to excellence when alive.
Those at the event hailed the life and achievements of Boladuro, who they said gave his all to sport and left a lasting impression on the world of sports and beyond.
According to them, he would always be remembered as a man of integrity, passion and dedication , a true champion in every sense of the word.
Boladuro, who passed away in 2015, left behind a rich legacy that will continue to inspire future generations of Police officers, sportsmen and women.
With his passion and dedication to the pursuit of excellence, he will always be remembered as one of the greatest icons of police games.
