    Experts to meet on air conditioning issues

    Experts will meet in Lagos today to find solution to the myriad challenges in the air conditioning subsector

    In a statement, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Nigerian Chapter said they are gathering at their yearly distinguished lecture and 15th anniversary between today and Thursday in Lekki to proffer solution to their problems.

    The group’s Nigeria Chapter President, Adewunmi Michael, said the lecture has as its theme, “Building energy efficient design towards reducing consumption from the national grid.”

    He said while the lecturer is Dr Hesham Safwat, a Senior Lecturer at British University in Egypt and ASHRAE Global training instructor; the President, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE),  Margaret Aina Oguntala, is guest of honour and distinguished guest of honour is Mr Mohammed Bassel Anbari, the Managing Director InterCool Central Air Conditioning and ASHRAE Director and Regional Chair ( DRC) Region at Large (RAL).

    Chairman Planning  Committee, Abayomi Akindele, said the lecture would focus on energy efficiency in building operations towards achievement of net zero sustainability goal.

    Expected to attend the lecture are professionals in the sector.

    “ASHRAE has over 50,000 members in more than 130 countries worldwide and just like the Nigerian chapter, the society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the engineering industry.”

     “ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment.

    “Through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow’s built environment today,” he stated.
