    Aisha Bello Mustapha: Seven things to know about late veteran broadcaster

    A veteran broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Aisha Bello Mustapha, died in the early hours of Monday, December 11.

    The sad news of her demise was announced in a statement released by her family. 

    Here are things to know about Aisha Bello Mustapha:

    1. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Ahmadu Bello University.

    2. She was skilled in journalism, television production, broadcasting, and editing.

    3. Aisha began her journey at NTA, rising to the role of Assistant Director of News.

    4. She was formerly the General Manager of NTA Parliament.

    5. She was most recognized for her critical role as one of the top newsreaders on NTA Network News at 9 PM in the 1990s and early 20s.

    6. She worked alongside veterans like Cyril Stober, Eugenia Abu, among others.

    7. Aisha retired in May 2022, after an extensive 35-year tenure in the broadcasting industry.

    Veteran NTA broadcaster Aisha Bello dies

    A veteran broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority, Aisha Bello Mustapha, is dead.

    Bello, who was well known on the Network News at 9pm, was said to have passed on in the early hours of Monday, December 11.

    The sad news of her demise was announced in a statement released by her family.

    The statement reads: “Innalilahi wa inna Alaihin Rajiun. May Allah forgive Hajia Aishat Bello Mustapha, our mother. You really are a very kind person, Mama, indeed, you are a very kind-hearted person. We will miss you and hope you are enjoying Rahma.”

    The funeral is scheduled to take place at the central mosque in Abuja at 1 pm on Monday, 11th December 2023. May her soul rest in peace.
