Ajaku Akata, a film directed by the veteran movie director, Adebayo Tijani, and produced by the multiple international award winning producer, Beatrice Funke Ogunmola (BFO), has bagged an award at the 2024 Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival in Canada.
The 2024 Epic Yoruba film features veterans like Bimbo Oshin, Wumi Toriola, Seun Akindele, Ronke Odusanya, Rukayat Lawal, Beatrice Funke Ogunmola (BFO), and Esther Kalejaiye.
It tells a story of betrayal and struggle for survival.
At TINFF 2024, AJAKU AKATA received three nominations – Best African Indegenous Film by Local Language, Best Supporting Actress: Wumi Toriola, Best Supporting Actress: Beatrice Funke Ogunmola (BFO).
Ogunmola won Best Supporting Actress with her outstanding performance in Ajaku Akata.

Other notable actresses nominated for this category that was won by Ogunmola includes Joke Silva, Efe Irele, Omowmi Dada, Elvina Ibru, among others.
According to the list of nominations released by Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival on their website, Ogunmola had two notable works nominated at TINFF 2024.
Ogunmola’s production, THE THORNS is a romantic dramedy directed by Tope Adebayo and featuring Lateef Adedimeji, Omowumi Dada, Femi Branch, Peju Ogunmola, Beatrice Funke Ogunmola, Olawuni Oluwapelumi, Jumoke Odetola, Jide Awobona Kayode Olaiya Aderupoko, and Woli Agba. The Thorns received two nominations at TINFF 2024 – Best Drama Nollywood and Best Supporting Actress: Omowumi Dada.
Ajaku Akata and The Thorns are also official selections of Abuja International Film Festival, AIFF 2024.
Basking in the euphoria of the latest feat, Ogunmola in her remarks expressed her appreciation to her production crew, actors, fans, and ultimately to God Almighty who makes all efforts great.
