The Akoko Youth Forum has reaffirmed commitment to peace, security, and youth empowerment of its community.
The youths said they remained steadfast in the commitment to the security and peace of Ondo State and will continue to contribute actively towards fostering a harmonious environment.
A statement by President, Akoko Youth Forum, Blessing James Akeju, while reacting to invitation of the Forum by DSS for questioning over their role in mobilising support for the upcoming ‘Akoko Youth Summit’ said that it would honour the invitation and attend the scheduled session at the agency’s Akure office.
It alleged the move followed recent courtesy visit by the group to the Office of the Attorney General of Ondo State where discussions centered on youth engagement, security, and developmental initiatives for Akoko youth.
It raised concerns about perceived attempts to suppress youth-led initiatives aimed at fostering unity and progress.
The development sparked reactions from stakeholders with many questioning why a platform designed to promote youth dialogue and community progress would become security concerns.
