Rescue operations are ongoing in the search for a missing girl in last Sunday’s flood that occured in Akure, Ondo State.
The operation is being led by the Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Emergency Response, Prince Oriade Adebawo.
Devastating flood swept through Araromi Area in Akure on October 20, 2024, claiming a 17-year-old girl.

Adebawo said he was collaborating with officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Ondo State Fire Service to rescue the victim.
He noted that the missing girl’s father was present throughout the search but the rescue operations continues.
According to him: “This tragic incident reflects severe flooding, which has affected many people, displaced many and caused many deaths, people should be safety conscious most especially during this raining season.”
