Al-Mu’minaat (The believing Women), Alimosho Zone has partnered with Muslim Women Entrepreneurship to educate its members on how to run a successful business.

At the maiden Muslimah Connect Business Exhibition, the group urged members to always network and connects with people in the same line of their businesses for exposure and growth.

The guest lecturer, Alhaji Jamiu Ajala, urged all Muslim Women to discover their talents and use it to annex opportunities.

He encouraged the women to follow the trends especially in the technology sector as it is driving every aspect of the world.

He urged the women in business to conform to the use of technology in operating their businesses. He added that using social media in advertising and promoting your business will attract wide patronage.

 He highlighted the benefits of using technology in business which includes fast accessibility, effective outcome and a bridge between space and time.

He advised the women to learn the techniques on how to establish a trade that would earn them enough profits.

He also stated that adopting technology will make one’s business secured and create a room for healthy competition among traders.

The second lecturer, Rofiat Akinyemi takes the women through importance of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration, record keeping, annual return filling and partnership in business.

According to her, these are all requirements to be considered for a long term and effective business.

She highlighted the importance of registering and insuring one’s business.

Akinyemi advised the members to have a rigid rules and regulations before establishing a partnership business.

The Head of Entrepreneur, Alimosho Zone, Hajia Naimot Abdul-Hameed, said the programme was organized with the mindset of enlightening the members on what business entails.

She stated that the programme was an eye opener and urged Muslim women to patronize one another to promote and foster good relationship.

Al-Mumina‘at, (the Believing Women Organisation), has expressed deep concern over the current state of affairs in the country.

Its National Amirah (President), Hajia Jelila AbdulHamid, called on the federal government to take immediate and effective measures to address the critical socio-economic issues and fulfill its obligations to the people.

She urged youths and the civil society organisations to exercise restraint.

“It is always better to jaw-jaw than to war-war. At this particular moment, we must allow reason and logic to prevail over might. Al-Mu’minaat hasten to note that two wrongs never made a right. The combination of bad governance to galloping inflation and complete shut-down of the nation by demonstration will never serve any good in the current state we found ourselves.

Hajia AbdulHamid said: “No doubt, the country is face mounting economic pressures, escalating costs of living, and inadequate security. Indeed, across the length and brength of Nigeria, hard times are here! It is visible, even to the blind. The deaf can hear its whispering; hard and poisonous to the eardrum. The rich and the poor are crying. Unarguably, it has never been as worse as this.

“Judging from the past experiences, we can authoritatively say that demonstration would be adding salt to our festering saw. The immediate unintended consequences of this demonstration will include scarcity of food items that are already out of reach of the common man. Following this, the price will further shoot-up to a level where only the rich and mighty will be able to afford. In the end, the masses we originally intended to fight for would end up being the worse victims. It is either the prolonged demonstration further dehumanizes them through starvation or send them to their graves through depression when hoodlums dispossess them of their trades or goods.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Al-Mu’minaat is not and never intended to be an advocate of government in any form. Members of the organisation are as well touched and affected by the policies of the government. However, there is always a good time for everything. In this particular case and without mincing words, this is not the best of time for demonstration. Hot palp, our elders say, deserves patience. This time also demands patience and prayers from all of us. This is more so as our religion admonishes us to bear every situation with patience and prayers. And it is on this note we call on the youths and the civil society organisations to stop the demonstration and give government more time.”
