    Alaafin-Elect vows to combat youth unemployment

    The Alaafin-Elect, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has said one of his agenda is to make sure that graduate youths seeking jobs are taken away from the streets.

    He also said he would create vocational skills for the youths.

    In a statement by the a Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, Bode Durojaiye, the monarch assured that he would make sure some graduates with Bsc or HND are helped with cyber security knowledge to checkmate seeking greener pastures abroad .

    Alaafin Owoade, the release stated, would continue from where his predecessor, late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi stopped, towards promoting culture and improve on Sango and Oranmiyan festivals.

    He added that widows and widowers would be empowered to improve their socio economic lives.

    The statement reads in part: “What is more, development of health facilities has been the new Alaafin’s priority and he wants to be remembered for it during his reign.

    “Alaafin Owoade had negotiated with international organisations and they have agreed to support him to develop his kingdom.

    “Oba Owoade would also make sure the artefacts taken away by British in 1895 are brought back.”

    The Alaafin-elect, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has extended his heartfelt condolence to Governor Seyi Makinde over the passing of his beloved brother, Sunday Makinde. 

    The deceased, the monarch stated, was a man of exemplary character, renowned for his kindness, piety, and unwavering dedication to the family.

    His life, he noted, was a testament to service, devotion, and love, leaving behind a legacy that will forever remain an inspiration to all who knew him.

    According to the Royal Father, “In every family, love forms the bedrock upon which all other values are built. It provides an environment where members feel safe, cherished, and supported.

    “When love is the central value, it influences every interaction, from daily exchanges to responses in times of crisis. Love in a family can enhance patience, encourage sacrifice, and inspire acceptance. Families can better navigate conflicts, celebrate successes, and provide mutual support through love”.

    Oba Owoade prayed Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.

    “My family’s thoughts and prayers are with you, Your Excellency, as well as with your family and loved ones.

    “May you find comfort in the cherished memories and enduring values your dear brother nstilled in his lifetime”, the monarch added.

    Ooni, Gani Adams hail Owoade’s emergence as Alaafin-designate

    Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has lauded the appointment of Abimbola Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo.

    He also congratulated the Alaafin-designate on his appointment as the new Oyo king.

    This is contained in a statement at the weekend by Moses Olafare, director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

    The statement was, however, silent on the complaints by the Oyo kingmakers (Oyomesi) that Owoade’s appointment was illegal. ‘’as it did not follow due process.’’

    Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has congratulated the Alaafin of Oyo-designate, Prince Owoade, on his emergence as the new Alaafin.

    He described it as a blessing to Oyo town and Yoruba race as a whole.

    Adams, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Kehinde Aderemi, said it was a thing of joy that the vacuum left behind by the death of the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi had been filled.
