ADC lacks direction, unity, political future – Alawuje

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a coalition that lacks direction, unity, and a clear political future, amid growing internal tensions within opposition ranks.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, Alawuje said the ADC had become a “political gathering going nowhere,” arguing that the party was gripped by panic, suspicion, and internal unrest.

He said that although members of the party appeared eager for political movement, they lacked a shared destination, ideological compass, or common vision to guide their actions.

According to him, what exists within the ADC is not genuine unity but what he called a “forced marriage of incompatible interests,” made up of groups fundamentally opposed to one another but pretending to be allies.

He argued that such an arrangement, in his view, could not deliver peace, stability, or progress, describing the party as a collection of unsettled rivals competing against themselves rather than a coherent political family.

Alawuje further claimed that none of the party’s leading figures enjoyed real political harmony or ideological compatibility, a situation he said had deepened internal contradictions and weakened cohesion.

He cited recent developments within the ADC as evidence of confusion, alleging that some leaders were scrambling for relevance following the exit or decline of key political figures, while others were now seeking positions and benefits they had previously opposed.

The statement said this contradiction had defined the ADC’s politics and exposed what he described as its lack of clarity about its real target, whether President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an individual or the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a political institution.

Alawuje said the uncertainty had weakened the opposition’s messaging, strategy, and credibility, while portraying President Tinubu as a resilient and strategic democratic figure and the APC as the most organized and prepared political party in the country.

He concluded by urging opposition elements, in the interest of national unity and stability, to allow President Tinubu complete his constitutional second term, arguing that internal confusion within the ADC reflected a deeper fear of the APC’s growing dominance.

ADC coalition built on contradictions, personal ambitions — Alawuje

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, has faulted the emerging political activities around the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the much-touted coalition as a political experiment riddled with contradictions and driven by personal ambitions.

Alawuje, in a statement on Wednesday, said what is being presented to Nigerians as a “coalition” is merely an aggregation of unresolved ambitions, political frustration and historical inconsistencies, rather than a serious platform for national leadership.

He argued that there is no credible indication that the ADC or its promoters genuinely believe they can defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election, insisting that the real motive is political positioning ahead of future calculations.

According to him, Nigerians are politically mature and will not be deceived by attempts to repackage familiar political actors under a new platform, stressing that records, identities and past legacies cannot be erased by convenience.

Alawuje noted that the ADC is largely populated by dissatisfied elements drawn from the PDP, Labour Party, ANPP and other parties, who, he said, failed to build consensus in their former platforms and are now united more by grievance than vision.

He maintained that a coalition formed on anger rather than ideology lacks the moral and structural capacity to offer credible national leadership or inspire public confidence.

The APC stalwart pointed to what he described as conflicting ambitions within the coalition, citing former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s long-standing presidential aspiration and contrasting it with the alleged singular focus of other actors to unseat President Tinubu in 2027.

“These are not complementary ambitions; they are competing agendas,” he said, adding that coalitions without unity of purpose, ideology and destination rarely survive, let alone govern.

Alawuje also criticised the group for what he called persistent attacks on President Tinubu’s reforms without presenting a clear, coherent and practical alternative policy blueprint for governance.

He defended the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda as deliberate and necessary, aimed at correcting long-standing structural distortions in the economy and governance system, and positioned toward long-term national stability and institutional renewal.

Alawuje concluded that Nigeria deserves a responsible, policy-driven opposition, warning that coalitions built on resentment, personal grievances and ideological emptiness cannot successfully challenge what he described as President Tinubu’s disciplined, strategic and reform-oriented leadership.

Nigeria won’t fall to ethnic, religious campaigners — Alawuje

The National Coordinator of Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ), Hon. Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, has declared that Nigeria will never be allowed to fall into the hands of politicians exploiting religion and ethnicity for selfish political gains.

Speaking in Kaduna on Thursday, Alawuje said the country’s challenges were not about north versus south, or Christian versus Muslim, but about self-serving elites who deliberately weaponise divisions to blindfold the masses.

“Our collective problem is not ethnic or religious. It is the greed of elites who loot public wealth for themselves and their cronies, then return to incite ordinary Nigerians against one another,” he said.

The DOJ leader noted that critics attacking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were not driven by patriotism, but by bitterness and desperation to regain political relevance through propaganda. “They will not succeed,” Alawuje said firmly.

He cautioned against reducing the 2027 general election to a regional or religious contest, warning that such an agenda was “short-sighted and a direct threat to Nigeria’s unity.”

Alawuje, who insisted he would never compromise on truth, said: “I fight for the truth, I defend the truth, I propagate the truth, and I am willing to sacrifice everything for the truth to stand — especially when the unity and future of Nigeria is at stake.”

He dismissed online critics who accuse him of shielding the President, stressing that he was neither seeking applause nor following the crowd. “Alawuje does not compromise on truth, but I am not also a perfect man,” he admitted.

The activist maintained that Nigeria would not collapse because of propaganda and ethnic politics, but would rise on the resilience of patriots who believe in progress and national interest above narrow sentiments.

“The self-centred, divisive coalitions using religion and ethnicity as political weapons must be exposed. They are not offering solutions; they are stirring chaos. But as long as voices like mine remain, we will not be silent,” he vowed.

Alawuje ended with a rallying call: “Nigeria belongs to all of us — and we will never hand it over to those who have nothing to offer but division and destruction. Truth will always outlast propaganda. Nigeria will rise, united and strong.”

Opposition lacks unity, ideology, credibility to defeat APC in 2027 – Alawuje

The National Coordinator of the Disciples of Jagaban, Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will remain the only genuine and serious political party as the nation approaches the 2027 general elections.

In a strongly worded statement on Saturday, Alawuje said the APC stands tall as the only party with cohesive structure, ideological depth, and national acceptance. He insisted that the upcoming elections will be “APC versus others,” as the opposition is made up of divided interests, personal ambitions, and frustrated elites.

According to him: “Most of these so-called parties are not serious political organizations. They are broken alliances of bitter politicians, desperate for power and driven by personal losses, not national interest.”

Alawuje described the historic political alliance between former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a divine arrangement, saying it was destined and executed by God

“The script of 2015 was written by Almighty Allah — Buhari was meant to lead, and Tinubu was destined to follow. That is not just politics. It is providence,” he stated.

He praised Buhari as a principled and disciplined leader and Tinubu as a master strategist and democrat whose influence cuts across Nigeria’s political spectrum.

According to the Jagaban loyalist, no current opposition leader can match Buhari’s credibility or Tinubu’s political depth.

“Who among the opposition today can stand as Buhari did in 2013 14 and 15 in the North? Who in the South has Tinubu’s record and reach? None. They are politically angry, frustrated, and aimless. Some of them see the leadership of a country like Nigeria as Guguru and groundnuts,” he said.

He likened the opposition to “political zebras lost in the jungle,” adding that the APC, as “the lion,” remains patient but ready to dominate.

“Some will be devoured as breakfast, others as lunch, and some as dinner. The APC is not just a party — it is a movement with clarity and purpose,” Alawuje asserted.

He challenged opposition leaders, calling for a national debate. “Let anyone come forward; I challenge any of them to a public debate. Let’s discuss leadership, vision, and national unity. If they are bold enough, let them face us,” he declared.

He said political parties should be about shared vision, discipline, and service to the people, adding that, today, APC remains the only party where those values still exist, hence other must learn the basics before dreaming of leading Nigeria.

Debt payments: Tinubu’s economic achievements deserve national prayer – Alawuje

The National Coordinator, of the Disciples of Jagaban, Comrade Adegoke Alawuje has supported the proposed Prayer for the nation with a view to sustaining the recent economic achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in reducing the debt service-to-revenue ratio by 32% within 17 months.

Tinubu announced on Monday that Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio has decreased from approximately 97 per cent when he assumed office 17 months ago to 65 per cent, stressing that the government had managed to keep the country afloat despite inheriting an economy on the brink of bankruptcy.

He noted that it was indeed “a challenge when the nation was servicing its debt with 97 per cent of its revenue. It was nothing but the edge of the cliff”, he said.

Tinubu expressed optimism about economic recovery, stating that the country is on a “good path” despite the cost-of-living crisis sparked by months of strict economic reforms.

“Economic recovery is on the horizon. We are on a good path to realise our dreams, not just for us, but for our children and grandchildren” the President said.

Commenting on the economic achievements and the prayer, Alawuje urged Nigerians not to allow sentiment to prevent them from recognizing the remarkable achievement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Alawuje said such a gigantic achievement needs to be supported with prayers, bearing in mind that both the enemies within and from outside the country need to be spiritually binded for the president to be focused and remains undistracted.

He applauded the move, saying, there is a need to support the nation and the administration with prayers in order to shore up the successes and achieve the set goals.
