  • Omo-Oba Music set for album launch

    Popular gospel singer, Evangelist (Prince) Abiodun Omosebi, is set to launch a new album, titled ‘F’opin si ibabuje mi.’

    According to the Evangelist, the album which is to complement the gospel of the second coming of Christ to the world will hit the market on August 4 when the album would be officially launched and released for sales. The album is a production of Omo-Oba Music Organisation.

    The Erijiyan-born musician hails from Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State also said the new album will be a little bit different from the previous ones and heavily percussive as well, but filled with God’s messages.

     

  • Artistes turn up for Cobhams’ album launch

    IT was a day of glory for music producer, Cobhams Asuquo on Sunday March 12, 2017, at the Civic Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, as he launched his highly-anticipated debut album at an exclusive high-profile command performance.

    Tagged ‘For You’, the album release was witnessed by corporate executives, artistes, Christian community leaders and captains of industry.

    The duo of Fome Peters and Edaniels, both talented artistes, set the tone for the evening in separate live performances. Their brief performances provided the tempo for what was to come.

    Dressed in white tuxedo with black collar outlines, Cobhams was ushered on stage by compere, IK Osakioduwa amidst loud ovation. He was led to the stage by his beautiful wife, Ojuola Asuquo who stepped aside once Cobhams was seated by his piano. From that moment, it was about the music.

    With lyrics displaying on the giant LED screen, Cobhams complemented with his full band and background vocalists. He opened with the first song on his album, Make Our Hearts and continued flawlessly with other tracks.

    A highpoint of the concert was the ceremonial unveiling of the album which was performed by Atedo Peterside, chairman of Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc and Cadbury Nigeria Plc and his wife Mrs. Dudu Peterside.

    Among those who graced the launch were Sammie Okposo, Falz, Waje, Omawumi, Toke Makinwa, Seyi Shay, Yemi Alade, Timi Dakolo, TY Mix, Paul Okoye, Kamal Ajiboye, Gloria, Elvina Ibru and Nosa. Other eminent personalities at the occasion include Atedo Peterside, the chief launcher, Dr. Tony Rapu, Adesuwa Onyenokwe and former First Lady of Cross River state, Mrs. Onari Duke.

    After the unveiling of the album, the artiste will commence an album tour on Sunday, March 28 at the Pistis Centre, Lekki.

    WITH his coming album launch, Abdul Rasheed Bello, aka JJC, it appears all is set to give music lovers all they’ve been longing for and n ever heard before in the industry. The album which is titled ‘Skillz’, is expected to be released on June 25.

    The 18-track album boasts of some heavy collaborations with artistes like Ice Prince, Praiz, Skales, Victoria Kimani, Olamide, Kate Henshaw, Vector and Seyi Shay.

    The popular music producer is obviously out to take his position in the Nigerian music scene with songs like My life and Save The Last Dance.

    Fondly called Mr. Skillz, JJC is popular for his classic singles, We are Africans, African Skank, Eru and My life among others.

    Jesuwale set for album launch

    Sequel to the previous songs that have paved way for him into the gospel music world, dynamic praise-song leader, Jesuwale Styven, is set to release his debut album.

    Speaking with The Nation, the singer said the album, titled Gratitude, will be launched on May 9, at The Soul Winning Family of God Church National Headquarters, Ibadan, Oyo State.

    Some of the top gospel artistes expected at the event are, Seyi Makinde, Goke Bajowa, Psalm Ebube, Dabo Williams, and Mc Babah Oror.

    The album according to him, is an enchanting musical fusion meant to convey the message of God’s love to people.

    When asked how he started music and what attracted him to the gospel genre, he said, “If I have to say anything on this, I won’t say less, but it was based on God’s calling and passion in using meaningful songs to draw people closer to God’s kingdom.”C

    Fast Rising gospel singer, Biola Akintomide, popularly called Madam Testimony, has launched her sophomore album titled The Storm is over at the M.A.N events centre, Ikeja, Lagos,  to the delight of music lovers.

    The Storm is over is a four-track composition produced by music producer/ arranger, Richard Efunbote.

    The energetic Afro-soul singer, whose musical repertoire bears a semblance with famed Gospel singer Tope Alabi, said her music is meant to inspire and heal wounded souls. ”As a gospel singer, I believe that beyond the entertainment value one gets from my music, it should also minister healing and life to the people. My songs cut across every aspects of life. And like the title of the album depicts, there is hope for us, even in the worst situations,” she said.

    The producer, Mr. Richard Efunbote, in his remarks, said the album is a combination of modern trends in music that give delight to everyone who enjoys listening to gospel music.

    He stated that the songs would be available in major music store, adding that the online audience would enjoy it on YouTube and other platforms in Nigeria and beyond.

    During the launch, the gospel act enthralled her fans with her stagecraft, particularly when she rendered her hit track, “Baba to S’ekun mi derin(The God that turned my sorrow into joy)”.
