    Alex Okoroji exchanges marital vows on 40th birthday

    AUGUST 30, 2024, will remain indelible in the heart of actress, media personality, and writer, Alex Okoroji, as she exchanged marital vows with her heartthrob, Eric McGill at Turf Valley Resort, Ellicott City, Maryland, USA on her 40th birthday.

    Alex, who is the International Relations officer of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and the first daughter of COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji, was resplendent in her wedding dress and smiling to the admiration of her husband, family members, and guests.

    Alex expressed her feelings of being loved by her man and family.

    “It was also the special day I said “I Do” to my husband, Eric at an intimate civil ceremony at the beautiful Concord Lighthouse (and Waterfront) at Havre de Grace, officiated by Minister Natalie Tyler on a very cold windy Sunday afternoon – supported by the wind, water, hale and my super amazing family who braved the cold (as well as those who joined virtually).

    “I’m so grateful to my husband for making my birthday special with just family. I feel blessed and I thank God for his grace and unwavering love and favour. I look forward to the second part of our main wedding in August when we can celebrate with more family, friends and colleagues.

    “Just in case you are wondering what my new name is. I’m now Mrs. Alexandra Okoroji-McGill (but yes, professionally, you can still call me Alex Okoroji). I love you all. And thank you for the many birthday wishes.”

    Not many know that Nollywood actress, Alex Okoroji wears several other caps aside acting, presenting and broadcasting.

     Okoroji is the President of Women Economic Forum (WEF) West Africa; the G100 Global Chair for Media Arts and Communication and the President of the Nigeria-India Business Council for Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI).

     For the first time in history, the Women Economic Forum would be held in West Africa to mark its 107th edition and the three-day event will take place at the 5-star Lagos Oriental Hotel between December 13 and December 15 after the G100 West Africa Meetings happening between December 11 and December 12 at the Consulate General of India (CGI) in Lagos.

     The conference will feature powerful keynotes and panel discussions with over 250 speakers in 18 VIP plenary sessions and fireside chats across the three days.

     Speaking a press briefing in Lagos, Okoroji said “The WEF West Africa Edition is the first-of-its-kind regional edition that brings together women leaders and men allies from across the world and within our region into Nigeria, to discuss the most pressing issues and global solutions for women in business, society, and across industries. This is a unique opportunity to connect with influential women leaders, learn from their experiences, share ideas, build networks, and create opportunities for economic growth. It is also a chance to raise awareness of the challenges facing women in business while advocating for policies and programs that support women’s economic empowerment.”

     Expected to lead the conference set to feature powerful keynotes and panel discussions with over 250 speakers in 18 VIP Plenary Sessions is the Founder & Global Chairperson, Dr. Harbeen Arora Rai, as well as our Special Guest of Honor, the Vice President, Republic of Liberia – Her Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Jewel Howard-Taylor, Her Excellency Magaret Gakuo Kenyatta.
