    Actor Rotimi Salami has penned an emotional appreciation letter to colleagues, guilds, associations, and the entire industry, thanking them for their outpouring of love and support following the passing of fellow actor Allwell Ademola.

    In the letter on Instagram, Salami praised the Nollywood community for showing up in force during their darkest moment, demonstrating that they are more than just industry professionals, but a true family.

    He expressed gratitude for the presence, calls, messages, prayers, financial support, and quiet strength offered by colleagues, which helped carry them through their grief.

    Salami highlights the dignity and respect with which Allwell was laid to rest, reflecting the value the industry placed on her life, craft, and impact.

    He thanked everyone for their gestures, big and small, and prays that God will reward them abundantly.

    “Appreciation Letter, Dear Esteemed Colleagues, Guilds, Associations, and the Entire Nollywood Family,

    “With a heart still heavy, yet deeply grateful, I write this letter to appreciate every one of you for the overwhelming love, support, and solidarity shown to us during the burial rites of our beloved colleague, Late Allwell Ademola.

    “In our darkest moment, you stood by us—not just as professionals in the same industry, but as a true family. From your presence, calls, messages, prayers, financial support, logistics, and quiet strength behind the scenes, you carried us when words failed and when grief felt unbearable.

    “Nollywood showed up in unity, compassion, and honour. You reminded us that beyond cameras, scripts, and sets, we share something deeper: humanity, love, and brotherhood. The dignity with which Allwell was laid to rest reflects the respect and value you all held for her life, her craft, and her impact.

    “We do not take any gesture for granted. Every effort, no matter how small it may have seemed to you, meant the world to us. You turned our tears into moments of strength and ensured that Allwell’s final journey was filled with honour, light, and love.

    Actor and filmmaker Muyiwa Ademola has spoken out about missing the burial of his cousin Allwell Ademola, in Lagos. 

    In a social media post, Ademola revealed he was abroad and unable to return in time for the ceremony.

    Allwell Ademola was laid to rest on January 9 at a Yaba cemetery with many prominent Yoruba film industry figures in attendance. 

    “It’s a final goodbye, Couz. The hardest part is not being in the country to witness your final journey home. Your passing is another painful reminder that tomorrow is never guaranteed. 

    “Each day we live brings us closer to our final day, and each birthday takes us nearer to the last. May we live long, amen. Sun re o Omo Oba EniObanke Ademola, bami ki baba mi Awofe Ademola, ki Uncle Adetokunbo Ademola… o digba o! O di gbere!”, he wrote.

    Social media users have sent condolences to the Ademola family following his post.

    Actress Bakare Zainab has responded to online trolls who criticised her emotional display at the service of songs for the late actress Allwell Ademola on Thursday.

    A troll had cursed her father in a direct message, prompting Bakare to lash out at the individual.

    Bakare, on Instagram, wrote that people are coming into her DM to curse her dad, and questioned the person’s audacity.

    She stated that she’s not a celebrity and will not maintain her home training.

    Bakare advised the troll to worry about their own end, asking who will grieve for them when they’re gone and how they would grieve for them.

    “Eniobanke finally laid to rest. May God be pleased with your soul and honour your return. People are coming into my DM to curse my dad, and y’all said I shouldn’t talk? My father?

    “I am not a celebrity o, so I will lose home training. Ah, my father is in my DM! The Audacity!! Instead of worrying about how others are grieving for their loved one, why not ask yourself, who will grieve for you when you’re gone, and how would they grieve for you? Worry about your own end o.

    Abi, you no go kpai again? Ahhhh my father!!! And y’all said I should keep mute. Ah,” she wrote.

    Bakare’s response has garnered attention, with many praising her for standing up to the troll.

    The thespian died on December 27, 2025 at the age of 49 after suffering a heart attack at her residence.

    According to the committee, the actress will be laid to rest today, January 9, 2026 at the Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos.

    “Guests are expected to appear in white shirts and jeans for the burial on Friday,”the statement from the committee said in part.

    Service of Songs and candlelight procession was held yesterday, January 8, 2026 at LTV 8, Ikeja, Lagos. The event was signed off with an Artistes’ Night at the same venue.

    Aside from screen acting, she also appeared on stage, including at the National Theatre, and released an album in 2006 with the band Allwell and Company.

    According to a statement shared online by her colleague, Rotimi Salami, a service of songs will be held on January 8, followed by a candlelight procession.

    The actress will be laid to rest on January 9 at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos.

    Attendees are asked to wear white attire, specifically a white shirt with jeans, on the day of the burial, and will receive a customised T-shirt at the venue on Thursday.

    “The burial arrangement for Princess Allwell Ademola

    “Note: On Thursday, A Customised t-shirt will be provided at the venue.

    The 49-year-old actress’s passing has been met with an outpouring of tributes from her colleagues and friends, including Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko, who were among the first to mourn her.

    The family has expressed appreciation for the love, prayers, and messages of condolences from her colleagues, friends, and well-wishers, and has asked for prayers for her soul to rest in peace.
