    Law firm announces changes in leadership

    Law firm, Aluko & Oyebode, has announced  keyleadership changes.

    A statement by the firm said Kofo Dosekun, its first woman chairman, has stepped down, while Olubunmi Fayokun has stepped in as new chairman.

    A respected figure in Corporate Commercial law, Dosekun will remain at the firm, joining Founding Partner, Gbenga Oyebode as Of Counsel.

    Dosekun stepped down after four transformative years, having played a foundational role in building and leading the Corporate Commercial and Banking and Finance practice and playing a central role in the firm’s rise to the top.

    “It has been an honour to help shape growth of Aluko and Oyebode and contribute to the firm’s reputation,” Dosekun said.

    Fayokun, is a senior partner with four decades of experience advising top-tier domestic and international clients.

    Reginald Udom, who served two terms as co-managing partner, steps down on September 1, although she will serve in the firm’s board.

    She is succeeded by Adeolu Idowu, a lawyer with nearly 30 years experience spanning Private Wealth, Energy, Telecoms, and Corporate Governance.

    It said the new chair is listed in the Legal500 Hall of Fame and IFLR1000 Women Dealmakers Hall of Fame. Fayokun is ‘‘a market leader in Corporate Commercial Law, Capital Markets, Mergers and Acquisitions, Financial Services.

    She has led several impactful, market-defining and precedent-setting transactions—including Nigeria’s first Additional Tier 1 Eurobond, the demutualisation and listing of The Nigerian Stock Exchange (now Nigeria Exchange Limited) and Diageo Plc’s divestment from Guinness Nigeria Plc.
