    Organisers plan big for AmuwoGames 2023

    The organisers of AmuwoGames 2023 have offered an in-depth look at the upcoming event, emphasizing the event’s dedication to community health, youth empowerment, inclusivity, and the crucial “SAY NO TO DRUGS” campaign.

    These were made known while briefing the press at the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Secretariat in Lagos.

    The event’s chief organiser, Oluwaseun Ayeni, articulated the multifaceted vision behind AmuwoGames 2023, noting that it seeks to promote physical health and well-being, empower local youth through sports, ensure inclusivity for all community members, and initiate various community-focused initiatives.

    A significant focus of the mission is the “SAY NO TO DRUGS” campaign, harnessing the power of sports to promote a healthier and drug-free lifestyle, with the campaign aiming to raise awareness and provide resources to combat substance abuse within the community.

    The organisers seized the opportunity to acknowledge and express gratitude to sponsors and partners, including Smoov Chapman, Nirvana Water, Golden Penny Foods, Alek Pharmacy, and Lanre Shittu Motors.

    Engr Valentine Buraimoh, the Local Government Chairman, highlighted the event’s significance.

    He noted that AmuwoGames has consistently encouraged physical fitness and commended the event’s role in the “SAY NO TO DRUGS” campaign, especially within the youth demographic.

    He also expressed optimism about discovering new talents, as sporting scouts often attend as spectators.

    Committee Member, Eva Etese, emphasised the event’s commitment to leaving a positive impact on the community through various initiatives.
