Former Big Brother Naija housemate Angel Smith has addressed the backlash surrounding a video of her and a mystery lady.

The video, which showed the two in a deep, touchy hug, led many to believe Angel is a lesbian.

In a statement on Snapchat, Angel expressed thoughts on the matter, asserting that being labeled a lesbian isn’t an insult.

She pointed out the irony in society’s priorities, noting that while pedophiles often go unchecked, her relationship and s3xuality are heavily scrutinised.

Angel emphasised that it’s her life, and as an adult, she’s free to make her own choices.

She also highlighted the importance of respecting individual beliefs and differences, stating that she’s not homophobic.

Angel dismissed the criticism, noting that opinions are fleeting and will eventually be forgotten.

She wrote partly on Snapchat: “Nigerians discover that other people don’t share the same politics as them and then lose their minds, like wow calling me a lesbian is not the gag you think it is not is it an insult, bad news my fine ass.

“Mind you, this is my life. You people did not come upon some secret thing. I posted it myself, and I let my friends post it because guess what? It’s probably shocking, but can you imagine that this is my life, and I’m an adult, and I can do whatever I like?

“And that is shocking again; I am not homophobic, and did you guys also know that because you think something is bad doesn’t mean the other person shares the same beliefs as you?

“Did you guys also know that we will die one day,, and your opinions will be nothing more than a whisper caught in the wind? Shocking I know”.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Angel JB Smith has hit back at critics who suggested that her recent weight loss was achieved through Ozempic, a medication for weight management.

Angel showcased her slimmer figure during an Instagram live session on January 18, 2025, crediting her transformation to regular gym workouts and quitting alcohol.

However, her weight loss sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some praising her dedication to fitness and others speculating about the use of Ozempic.

In a fiery response on X, Angel told her critics to “give it a rest,” insisting that her weight loss is the result of hard work and healthy lifestyle choices.

She expressed frustration at the constant scrutiny of her body, telling her critics to stop speaking about her physique.

“You weirdo lame ass hoes have been speaking on my body since 2021, give it a rest.

“Someone can not go to the gym and stop drinking alcohol without you all coming on here with your ugly ass lips talking about some Ozempic, shut up and stop speaking on my body,” she wrote.

Former BBNaija housemate, Angel Smith is celebrating her mother, Titi Brownshugar, as she turns 41 today, Friday, March 29.

The reality star posted her mother on X showering her with praise and affection, declaring her the most beautiful.

The 24-year-old shared a series of heartwarming photos of her mother, spanning from the past to the present, including a touching image of her mother cradling her as an infant.

Big Brother Naija reality star, Angel Smith has addressed the speculation surrounding her alleged split from colleague, Somadina.

Speculation arose when Angel unfollowed Soma on Instagram and modified his birthday message to her by yanking off the word “love.”

Taken to her X page, Angel claimed that individuals fueling the rumours were engaging in bullying behaviour towards her, adding that she has been enduring cyberbullying since 2021 when she rose to fame as a reality star.

Angel further emphasized that regardless of their relationship status, fans should honour their decision, particularly since they are not engaging in public disputes on social media.

She wrote: “You guys have been bullying me since 2021, for no reason. Even the things you guys accused me of are untrue. I still haven’t said a word. You don’t like me, I have heard, I’m a bad girl, I have heard. Honestly shut the hell up.

“Even if we broke up, so????? If that were the case? Did you see us dragging ourselves online, you people are in relationships you can only tell God about and you have the audacity. Idiots.”

Former Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eyes’ housemate, Angel Smith has dished out relationship advice to fans and followers.

The reality star admonished the singles to return to their exes, noting how life is too short for one to be beefing their exes.

She further added that if one’s ex is a cancer or libra, they should return to bed.
