  • Angelina Jolie goes glam in metallic fringe flapper dress

Angelina Jolie typically favors a classic, streamlined red carpet style—think timeless black gowns and elegant white slips. But last night, the actress amped up the glamour and the fun in a sparkling gold fringe dress for the latest premiere of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

Designed by Ralph & Russo Couture, the flapper-inspired dress featured tiers of jewel-encrusted crystal fringe and metallic beading. Stepping out of her typical red carpet comfort zone, Jolie accessorized the flashy halter dress with matching metallic pumps and sparkling drop earrings.

Attending the Tokyo premiere alongside her was her eldest son Maddox, who went off to college this past summer, and her eldest daughter Zahara. The teenagers posed alongside their mom on the red carpet carpet, with Zahara stunning in a black lace dress and Maddox looking dapper in an all black suit.

But don’t worry, the rest of the Jolie-Pitt kids got their premiere time in too. The entire family went for coordinating black looks (aside from Knox, who worked a little color into the mix).

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, which stars Jolie, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Elle Fanning, premieres on October 18, 2019.

  • Landmark victory for Chris Aire

After eight years of litigation between Chris Aire’s company, Solid 21 Inc., and Hublot, a subsidiary of LVMH, regarding Solid 21’s RED GOLD® trademark in the United States, and less than one month from a highly anticipated trial, the parties announced they have resolved the disputes between them in a joint press release. Additionally, Hublot stated that it “recognizes that Solid 21 has a registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on the use the phrase ‘Red Gold’ as a trademark in connection with watches and jewelry and that such registration has become incontestable under Section 15 of the Lanham Act.” Neither side would offer additional comment.
According to court records, Nigerian-born Chris Aire, world-renowned jewelry and watch-maker, began using the mark RED GOLD® in association with the sales of or watches and jewelry in 1989.  In 2002, he registered the mark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The success of the brand demonstrated Aire’s marketing ingenuity in coining an identifier that signifies masculinity. His RED GOLD® collection of jewelry and watches was highly successful and exponentially expanded his business, while instigating massive media buzz that helped propel sales to new heights. It also broadened his celebrity base, which today includes such high-profile and eminently loyal followers as Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, Will Smith, Angelina Jolie, Liam Helmsworth, Shaggy, Dr. Dre, Ellen DeGeneres and many more.
“You couldn’t give rose gold away before we started branding it,” the Nigerian-born designer told Bloomberg.
A slew of other watch manufacturers were sued by Aire in 2010 over their unauthorized use of the RED GOLD® mark in association with sales of watches, including the Richemont Group, Swatch, and Movado. Most of those suits were tolled pending the resolution of the Hublot case. Following the settlement announcement, Aire has indicated that “everything is on the table” and he will be vigorously pursuing any infringers of the RED GOLD® mark.
It bears mentioning that Aire built his company Solid 21, Inc. from the ground up, with what he describes as “equal amounts of heart and talent.” Aire moved to California from Africa while still a teen to continue his education and discover his destiny, miles away from the family oil haulage business his father assumed he would join.
He seeded the company with his own hard-earned investment of just $5,000 he’d saved from his salary as a jewelry apprentice, after brief forays into acting and music. Aire’s first big break was the result of a fortuitous encounter with NBA superstar Gary Payton, who helped secure a substantial order that literally allowed Aire to pay for his return ticket to California after the meeting.
Another major break came in 2004, when Aire made history as the first jeweler to stage a runway show of his jewelry in New York City during fashion week, showcasing diamonds as fashion. Supermodel Naomi Campbell headlined the event wearing one of Aire’s over-the-top creations that helped earn him the nickname “King of Bling”: a diamond halter worth 10 million USD.
But there’s more to Aire than just “bling.” With a focus on sourcing and selling conflict-free gems, many from mines in which he is personally invested, and a goal of eliminating child labor in the mining industry in his home continent, Aire says that he built his business on his “own conscience.” He also is involved in numerous charitable organizations both in the U.S. and abroad.
“We are a very socially conscious company,” he says. And more as a grateful aside than a pat on the back for a smart marketing maneuver, he continues, “A lot of our high-profile clients have taken notice. And you know what happens when they take notice? The rest of the world does, too.”
Many are inspired by Aire’s hard work and commitment to protecting his trademark and intellectual property.
Although he would not comment on the settlement, Aire said: “I am very grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past eight years, but all the glory must be return to Yahweh, Our Elohim, in whom all things are possible”.

ANGELINA JOLIE GETS HER GROOVE BACK

AFTER a painful divorce from Brad Pitt, Hollywood acclaimed highest-paid actress, Angelina Jolie may have found succour in the success of a new movie, First They Killed My Father, which she says was responsible for the crash of her marriage of 10 years.

The sultry actress who shone on the red carpet at TIFF during the premiere of her film noted that First They Killed My Father was behind the breakdown of her marriage and was part of the reason she split with Brad Pitt.

She attended the premiere with her six children – Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, Vivienne, 9, and Knox, 9.

She said in another interview that while filming First They Killed My Father in Cambodia, she was inspired by the character of the lead child actor enough to know that she needed love in her life.

First They Killed My Father is based on activist, Loung Ung’s memoir about the suffering her Cambodian family endured during the Khmer Rouge years.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt agree to settle divorce in private

Following backlashes from fans, it appears that estranged Hollywood duo; Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have decided to keep their divorce process and child custody tussle private.
Reports say the actors, who jointly released a press statement on Monday have agreed to keep future details of their divorce confidential by using a private judge as they work to ‘reunify’ the family.
Pitt and Jolie were married for two years and together for 12 years until in September last year, when Jolie cited irreconcilable differences as the reason she is pulling out.
“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues,” their statement read.
“The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”
The statement is the first joint comment from the actors on their divorce since Jolie filed to end their marriage.
Custody of their six children has been the primary issue in the divorce, with Jolie initially seeking sole physical custody while Pitt wanted joint custody.
The actors’ romance began while filming 2005’s Mr & Mrs Smith.
Their divorce, and every filing in it, has attracted international attention. Last month, Pitt sought to seal custody records in the case, and a hearing had been scheduled for next week on the issue.
Both actors have kept a relatively low profile since their breakup was announced, although Pitt made an appearance onstage at Sunday’s Golden Globes to spirited applause.
Private judges are often used in high-profile divorce cases, keeping many details of a breakup out of the public eye while a final judgment is negotiated.

Angelina Jolie’s wedding gift to Brad Pitt

Hollywood actress, Angelina Jolie put down thousands of dollars on the last typewriter Ernest Hemingway used before killing himself, a $250,000 wedding gift for Brad Pitt, according to reports.

Sources connected with the couple revealed the Angelina’s agent got in touch with L.A. Police Commission President Steve Soboroff, who has an unbelievable typewriter collection, including Hemingway’s 1926 Underwood.

Hemingway used the typewriter for his works in the late 1930s, and For Whom the Bell Tolls was published in 1940.

Jolie initially wanted to buy his Tennessee Williams typewriter but he wouldn’t sell it. So then the agent asked if Soboroff would sell one of the 2 Hemingway typewriters he owned, they offered a quarter of a million bucks and it was an offer he couldn’t refuse.

This summer the agent sent a deposit check from Angelina’s production company, Chivan Productions for $11,000, but at some point she had a change of heart and cancelled the deal. She didn’t even ask for the money back, but we’re told the check was returned.

Born July 21 1899, Ernest Miller Hemingway was an American author and journalist. His economical and understated style had a strong influence on 20th-century fiction, while his life of adventure and his public image influenced later generations.

Hemingway produced most of his work between the mid-1920s and the mid-1950s, and won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. He published seven novels, six short story collections, and two non-fiction works. Additional works, including three novels, four short story collections, and three non-fiction works, were published posthumously. Many of his works are considered classics of American literature.

Hemingway was raised in Oak Park, Illinois. After high school he reported for a few months for The Kansas City Star, before leaving for the Italian front to enlist with the World War I ambulance drivers. In 1918, he was seriously wounded and returned home. His wartime experiences formed the basis for his novel A Farewell to Arms (1929). He died July 2, 1961.

Angelina Jolie may go into politics

ANGELINA Jolie would consider running for political office although she is “not sure if she would ever be taken seriously in that way.”

In addition to being an Oscar winning film star and mother to six children, the actress is a notable humanitarian – supporting a number of children’s charities, lobbying the US government with human rights interests and being a special envoy for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) – and says one day she could possibly run for office.

Speaking on ‘Good Morning America’ she said: “You know, if I thought I’d be effective, I would. But I’m not sure if I would ever be taken seriously in that way, and be able to be effective.”

The 38-year-old star also took the brave decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy last year, and says that decision has helped bring her both closer to people and raise awareness, which has had a very positive effect.

She added: “I wasn’t worried about it, but I didn’t expect there to be so much support. And I was very moved by it… It’s connected me so much to other families, other women.

“And you know, and now when I meet people, we don’t talk as much about films, but we talk about their children, or women’s choices, or their wives. It’s been a really beautiful journey.”
