    Oyo town shines as elite gathering celebrates SCoP Adeleke’s heir’s joyous wedding

    The ancient Oyo town came alive with celebration over the weekend as Anthony Abimbola Adeleke, the son of Ambassador Victor Adeleke, the State Chief of Protocol (SCoP) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and an Oyo prince, wedded  Dominika Zbichorska in a heartfelt union that drew Nigeria’s top figures from politics, business, and royalty.

    The event which ran from Friday through yesterday, transformed the historic town into a hub of national prestige and cross-cultural harmony as the Polish-born bride brought her national heritage to blend with the rich Yoruba culture, in the town that now carries the name of one of the most magnificent empires found on black man’s soil, Oyo.

    The solemn church service took place at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Cathedral in Asogo, Oyo. It was officiated by senior clergy led by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Most Rev. Emmanuel Ade Badejo, deputized by the Cathedral Administrator, Rev. Fr. Julius Olayinka.

    The vows exchanged by Anthony and Dominika symbolized a beautiful bridge between Yoruba heritage and Polish roots, captivating all who witnessed the intimate yet grand ceremony.

    Anthony Lions Club installs new president

    Anthony Village NGChuks Lions Club has installed Lion Ngozi Paschal-Okoye as its third president.

    The event, which held at St. Raphael The Archangel New Event Hall, Ajao Estate, Anthony Village, also doubled as a fundraiser for the club’s proposed N20million ICT Centre for youths in the community, to be situated in Aladura Comprehensive High School, Anthony Village.

    A visibly elated Lion Paschal-Okoye expressed her delight at being elected to lead a club formed in memory of a great member, Lion Ngozi Chucks Okeke, whom she and other members testified served selflessly in her lifetime.

    Aside from continuing in the tradition of feeding the poor and ensuring a clean environment, she said the club has taken up the challenge to build an ICT Center for the youths because developing and building the youths remains its focal point.

    “Whether we like it or not, ICT is the way to go, and a well-equipped Nigerian youth can be here and be making money from abroad,” she remarked.

    Since her election, she said the club has been planting trees but added that it will be carrying out free feeding at the Pacelli School for the Blind and holding a huge medical fair where people can be tested for free and illnesses can be detected and nipped in the bud.

    Lions Joseph Alade and Ekene Uwuseba emerged as 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents while Martina Odudu emerged as Secretary amongst others.
