Real Betis have signed Manchester United forward Antony after the clubs agreed a 25 million euros ($29.27 million) package deal.

There is a 50% net sell-on clause in the deal and no pay-off for the 25-year-old Brazil international.

Antony made 62 Premier League appearances for United, scoring five goals and providing three assists since the Old Trafford club bought him for 81.3 million euros ($95.18 million) from Ajax Amsterdam in 2022.

He joined Betis on loan in January and scored nine goals in all competitions.

Antony’s departure is part of United’s squad revamp in the transfer window, with Napoli signing their Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund on a season-long loan earlier on Monday.

Antony was among five players seeking to exit the club in the window, along with Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho. Rashford joined Barcelona on loan last month.

Sancho has been linked to Aston Villa in a loan move.

Man United set to offload Garnacho, Antony for Osimhen transfer

Manchester United could reportedly be set to sell both Alejandro Garnacho and Antony to Atletico Madrid during the 2025 summer transfer window.

Ruben Amorim has admitted that his side will need to offload several players before they can afford to sign reinforcements this summer, and Garnacho and Antony are among the stars tipped to depart Old Trafford on a permanent deal ahead of the new campaign.

If Man United are able to sell Garnacho and Antony for a combined fee of €100m, it could help them land top target Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian is set to leave Napoli on a permanent deal this summer, following a loan spell at Galatasaray, and Old Trafford is deemed to be one of his more likely destinations.

Antony has impressed following his loan move to Real Betis in January, although Garnacho has only scored two goals in his last 30 appearances as his struggles under Amorim continue.

However, Atletico Madrid are monitoring both players and could be set to launch a double deal bid this summer, according to TBR Football.

Garnacho spent seven years in Atletico Madrid’s academy set-up before moving to Man Utd in 2022, and Diego Simeone is reportedly eager to bring him back to the Wanda Metropolitano this year.

Atletico Madrid will reportedly intensify their pursuit of the Man United pair in the coming weeks, with the Red Devils expected to ask for a €100 million fee for the duo.

Manchester United have confirmed that Antony is returning to training with the club.

The 23-year-old had been on a leave of absence, as he is currently being accused of abuse by two separate women, including his former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.

Both the Greater Manchester Police and Sao Paulo police are looking into the alleged incidents, but he has not been arrested or charged, with the player maintaining his innocence.

The investigations are ongoing, but he is now returning to training with the Red Devils, starting on tomorrow , a statement from the club confirmed on Friday afternoon.

“Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has co-operated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so,” said the 20-time English champions.

“As Antony’s employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington, and be available for selection, while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case.

“As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse.”

Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag was then asked about the situation during his press conference.

“We make the statement so I refer to the statement, everything has been made clear in the statement. No, I don’t think it’s a distinction. We will focus on the games. He will do as well,” the Dutchman told reporters.

“On Saturday, he will be back in training, so tomorrow. I have to see, but I think, yeah [he’s fit].”

One of the three women to initially accuse him of assault has allegedly dropped her complaint, but there remain accusations from two women.

Antony, who arrived at Old Trafford from Ajax last summer, has admitted that his relationship with his former girlfriend Cavallin was “tumultuous” but has denied that he ever physically assaulted her.

The South American has not played for Man United since the defeat to Arsenal on September 3, and he is not expected to be in the squad against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Antony has represented the Red Devils on 48 occasions, scoring eight goals and registering three assists.

Further allegations against Manchester United winger Antony have emerged following the domestic abuse claims that saw him dropped by Brazil. The 23-year-old earlier this week was omitted from the Brazil squad after accusations of physical aggression on a number of occasions since January towards his former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin, which are being investigated by police and which he denies.

Since then, Brazilian newspaper Extra has reported that influencer and law student Rayssa de Freitas in May 2022 filed a police report against Antony alleging she sustained injuries in an incident involving the player and another woman after a night out in Sao Paulo.

Meanwhile, banker Ingrid Lana has told Brazil’s RecordTV that in an incident at Antony’s home in Manchester in October 2022 he “pushed me against the wall, and I hit my head”.

Lana said that Antony “tried to have a relationship with me and I didn’t want to”, adding: “My purpose was just business. Arriving there, at his invitation, I realised that he had ulterior motives.”

United had no comment to make on those further allegations when contacted by the PA news agency on Friday.

Manchester United say they are taking allegations made against winger Antony “seriously” after he was accused of abusing his former girlfriend.

Brazilian news outlet UOL published allegations made by Antony’s ex-partner on Monday.

Police in Sao Paulo and Greater Manchester are investigating the claims, which the player has denied.

The 23-year-old was withdrawn from the Brazil squad after news of the allegations emerged.

United said: “Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the police are conducting enquiries. Pending further information, the club will be making no further comments.

“As a club we are taking this matter seriously, with consideration of the impact of these allegations and subsequent reporting will have on survivors of abuse.”

Antony said on social media: “I can calmly state that the accusations are false and that the evidence already produced and the other evidence that will be produced demonstrate that I am innocent of the accusations made.”

Antony is accused of attacking his former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin “with a headbutt” in a Manchester hotel room on 15 January, leaving her with a cut head which needed treatment from a doctor.

She also alleges she was punched in the chest, causing damage to a silicone breast implant, which required corrective surgery.

Manchester United said they had no comment on the matter at present when contacted by BBC Sport.

The allegations come after the Premier League club announced last month that forward Mason Greenwood would leave by mutual agreement following a six-month internal investigation.

Charges against Greenwood, including rape and assault, were dropped in February. The 21-year-old joined Spanish side Getafe on loan last week.

Antony has been replaced in the Brazil squad by Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru.
