  • Aramide celebrates Women’s Day with ‘Songversation’

    Afro-soul singer, Aramide thrilled her fans to a night of conversation and music at the 2019 ‘Songversation with Aramide’ which held at Terra Kulture Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday.

    The event which was in commemoration of the international women’s day, celebrated women who have done exploit in their different professional fields and have in one way or the other given back to society.

    Aramide took fans and music lovers on a journey of live music while performing many of her hit songs such as ‘Fall on them’, ‘Funmi Lowo’, ‘Bolaji’, ‘Bose’, ‘why so serious’ and many more. During her performance, Aramide thanked excited fans and music lovers who came out to enjoy good music as well as support her.

    Other artists who performed at the event included Praiz, Ric Hassani, Sir Dauda, GoodGirlLa, Banke, Temmie Ovwasa and Temilayo. Celebrities such as Adekunle Gold, Falzthebahdguy, Bez Idakula, Niniola, Sika Osei, Kenny Saint Best and Essence also graced the event.

    The event was also sponsored by Wema Bank and top brands such as Mouka Foam, LIRS, MTV Base and many more.

    Soul singer Aramide was part of the African stars who performed at the 2019 SXSW festival.

    The Afro pop worldwide festival held over the weekend at Palm Door on March 15, 2019 in Austin, Texas.

    And Aramide performed to a host of music lovers who gathered to have a taste of African music. Aramide was excited at the response she got from the crowd after her performance.

    ‘It is such a wonderful feeling to see people vibe to my song and also sing along,’ she said.

    ‘I feel great, I feel blessed. I’m glad African music can leave the shores of Africa and expand to the world at large. I’m also excited people can see African music for what it is and also appreciate the talent behind the music.’

    The festival, which is one the biggest creative gatherings in the world showcased over 20 African artists with Aramide performing some of her hit singles such as ‘Funmi lowo’, ‘Fall on them’, ‘Jowo’ and many more.

  • Aramide, Falz, others attend Basement Gig’s Second Anniversary

    The Basement Gig marked its second  anniversary on December 13 and it was a great success with a huge turnout. The event held at The FreeMe Space in Lagos, with amazing performances by the headlining artistes – Yung L, Sir Dauda, GoodGirl LA, Dapo Tuburna, Attitude and BlaqBonez.

    Surprise performances by Falz and Mystro got the crowd all excited, as well as live mixes by DJ Six7even, DJ Jizzi and DJ Sensei Lo. Also, in attendance were Skales, Ehiz, Aramide, Ladipoe, Shody The Turnup King and many more. The event was hosted by Kemi Smallzz and Sheye Banks.

  • Aramide drops ‘Amaka’ cover

    Queen of Afrosoul and award-winning singer Aramide has released ‘Emeka’, a cover to ‘Amaka.’

    In her usual way, Aramide makes the song her own singing a response to one of the biggest songs of 2018 by 2Baba and Peruzzi.

    Her version was produced by BigFoot.

    On Thursday, Aramide will release her second official single off her sophomore album.

    Aramide’s song, ‘Iwo Nikan’, won her Best Vocal Performance at the Headies 2015. In November, 2016, Aramide released her debut album ‘SUITCASE’ where she featured Sound Sultan, Ice Prince, Adekunle Gold, Koker and Sir Dauda. And in 2017, the artiste embarked on her debut world tour which took place in United States, Ghana and Nigeria titled ‘Aramide Suitcase Live’ (ASL). She performed at the legendary Sounds of Brazil (SOBs) in New York, the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk among other locations.

  • Comedian apologises to Aramide

    Promising comedian, Ebiye Victor has tendered a public apology for making a distasteful remark about young musician, Aramide.

    The singer had expressed surprise when she was called out as the winner of ‘The Best Alternative Song’ award for her song, ‘Fun Mi Lowo Mi’ featuring Sound Sultan and Koker at the Headies, for which the comedian implied she may have ‘slept’ with the organizer for the #Headies2018 award she won.

    He had shared a photo of the singer on his Snapchat, in which she was accepting the award, with the caption; “She can’t even believe it, lol she prolly f***ed for the award. #Headies.”

    A sober Ebiye later apologized, saying: “I made a distasteful joke about @aramidemusic last night at the Headies. I am embarrassed by my comments and I am profusely sorry. Aramide is a hardworking artist who deserves every recognition she gets by merit. I sincerely apologize and pledge that such will not repeat itself again. I pledge to control my words in the future as things said and written cannot be taken back.”

    After releasing her latest video, Magic, Afro soul singer, Aramide has taken to social media to flaunt her new set of pictures.

    Aramide expresses thoughtful and playful emotions throughout the three minutes twenty seconds video directed by Bash’em.

    The video also shows Aramide in different costumes during a photo shoot. And taking to Instagram posts, she shares some still photos from the ‘Magic’ video.

    The singer posted photos showing her wearing a red dress with an embroidered rose on it and complementing it with green earrings on her Instagram account.

    ‘I am a child of peace, Daughter of the Most High,’ she wrote.

    In another post, she wrote, ‘April became mine because of you.’

    In it, she is seen pointing a DSLR camera at herself, saying; ‘I’m crushing on myself today. That’s totally allowed and it’s not vain to feel yourself small.’

    Aramide, whose real name is Aramide Sarumoh is a graduate of Political Science from the University of Jos. She veered into music and her song, ‘Iwo Nikan’ won her Best Vocal Performance (Female) at the 2015 Headies.
