    Protest: Women affairs minister, Asari Dokubo organise peace rally in Abuja

    The Minister for Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye and leader of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, Asari Dakubo, organised Nigerian women for a mass national peace rally against the up coming protest.

    Uju Kennedy called for calm while speaking at a rally in Abuja, stating that mothers and youth leaders should key into President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by ensuring peace, unity and progress of the country. 

    Ohanenye said the progress and the desired good governance Nigerians are craving for can only be achieved in a peaceful nation and not in protests and chaos.

    The minister made this call during a peace rally organized by the ministry of Women Affairs and the leader of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, Asari Dakubo in Abuja, pleading that Nigerian mothers, brothers, and children should  understand that the narratives are about to change. 

    She said: “We are mothers and we don’t want our children to die, we don’t want this protests because when there is protest it  shatters the country which is

    why I have called our children, the youth across the country and our women to organize this rally.

    “The youths are in agreement with me to make the country better. This is a plea from my heart to stop the protest as government is committed to fighting for women, children and all, this cannot be done if President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is not backing me up”.

    Speaking, the leader of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, Asari Dakubo pointed that it is unfair for Nigerians to expect the president to solve  all issues facing the country in one year, since he is not a magician. 

    He said: “President Bola Tinubu was given a four years mandate, he still has three more years, so he should be given time. The president should be supported at this moment so he can succeed, so politics should be set aside. 

    The National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS), Comrade Lucky Emonefe, on behalf of the association has declared that they will not be party to the planned protests as long as their mothers, the women are against it.

    Former Niger Delta militant leader, Muhajid Alhaji Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, has extended warm felicitations to Alabo, Dumo lulu-Briggs, head of the Oruwari Briggs Group of War Canoe and Chieftaincy Houses of Abonnema on his 60th birthday.

    In a heartfelt message, Dokubo-Asari praised Alabo Dumo lulu-Briggs for his remarkable journey, marked by unwavering dedication to politics without bitterness, and his tireless efforts to promote peace and brotherliness throughout his life.

    “I salute his penchant for politics without bitterness, promoting peace and brotherliness,” Dokubo-Asari said, highlighting Alabo Dumo lulu-Briggs’s remarkable ability to navigate the complexities of politics with grace and humility.

    Dokubo-Asari also commended Alabo Dumo lulu-Briggs for his outstanding philanthropic endeavors, particularly in Abonema, where he has made a profound impact on the lives of youths, the aged, and women through various outreach programmes.

    “Alabo Dumo lulu-Briggs has been outstanding in his philanthropic endeavors to touch and change the lives of youths, the aged and women in Kalabari kingdom providing succor and support to the weak and hopeless through various  outreach programmes,” Dokubo-Asari emphasised.

    The paramount ruler of Edi Abali Group of War Canoe Houses of Kalabari kingdom also praised Alabo Dumo lulu-Briggs for his selfless life, which exemplifies love for humanity and service. “Dumo’s selfless life exemplifies love for humanity and service,” Dokubo-Asari said, acknowledging Alabo Dumo lulu-Briggs’ enduring legacy.

    Asari Dokubo, Jack-Richsue for peace in Rivers, urge support for Tinubu

    An All Progressives Congress chieftain, Tein Jack-Rich and Leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, Chief Asari Dokubo have called for peace in the midst of the current political crisis between Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike

    They also called for support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

    They made the call in a statement on Saturday after Jack-Rich paid Dokubo a courtesy visit at his home in Obuama, Degema Local Government Area (LGA), of Rivers.

    Jack-Rich lauded Tinubu for his timely intervention in the political crisis in the state.

    He said the president’s intervention had doused further tensions in the state, and restored confidence of hope for the people and also investors.

    He said: When it comes to the issue of Rivers, we are stakeholders and our interest is for the peace, economic survival, political and economic inclusion of Rivers.

    “Sometimes friends fight, parents and children might have disagreements, and they express such in their own ways; I am appealing to the FCT minister and our governor to work out their differences.

    “Crisis will drive away investors, and if there are no private investments, capital investments, there cannot be economic growth and our youths won’t be employed.”

    Jack-Rich therefore, called for calm and understanding from both parties, for the sake of Rivers and the people.
