The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has commenced a statewide series of strategic grassroots engagements aimed at strengthening its political structure, energising supporters, and deepening public awareness of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s achievements as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections.

Beginning on Tuesday, AMG held simultaneous Local Government meetings across all council areas in Ondo State. The momentum continues with Ward meetings scheduled from Wednesday, through Friday, taking place concurrently across the State’s 203 wards.

This large-scale mobilisation is fully supported and funded by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, whose commitment to grassroots political development and the success of the Tinubu administration remains steadfast.

The Director General of AMG, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, described the exercise as “a deliberate and structured effort to stabilise the organisation, reinforce internal cohesion, and sustain continuous sensitisation across the state.”

According to him, the meetings form part of AMG’s broader mission to consolidate support for President Tinubu’s mandate ahead of 2027, ensuring every community remains well-informed about the President’s reforms, policies, and transformative achievements in office.

…says 50kg bag of rice will soon be N20,000

The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has declared that the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu are beginning to produce positive outcomes across key sectors of the nation’s economy.

The Coordinator of the Women Wing of the group, Mrs. Yetunde Adeyanju, stated this on Friday at a mobilisation programme held in Ondo to rally support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

Adeyanju said recent indicators in agriculture, manufacturing, and foreign exchange management show that the policy direction of the Tinubu administration is gradually stabilising the system and restoring investor confidence.

She noted that although Nigerians have endured significant hardship since the implementation of the reforms – particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the exchange rate – long-term benefits are beginning to emerge.

Adeyanju, a former Commissioner for Water Resources in the state, said ongoing economic reforms, agricultural interventions, and support for local farmers would strengthen the food supply chain and make essential commodities more affordable.

She also expressed optimism that the price of a 50kg bag of rice could soon drop to about N20,000, saying the government’s efforts were already influencing market trends.

According to her, the mandate of the group is to deliver massive votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 election across all 18 local government areas of Ondo state.

“The achievements of our President (Tinubu) so far will give him the second chance to govern us again in this country, and the mandate given to us by the leader of our group, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is to ensure that every woman in Ondo State votes for Bola Tinubu in 2027 in the APC.

“So, very soon, Nigerians will start buying rice at the rate of 20,000 naira per bag, because we have seen what the President has done in the last two years economically. I am a trader too, and I know the trend of the market in Nigeria, and we started seeing the results.

“Two years ago, we were buying rice for as much as between N180,000 and N200,000, but I can assure you with the market trends now that, within the next two years, we will be buying rice for less than N20,000, and I’m convinced about it,” She said.

Adeyanju added that the group is intensifying efforts to secure widespread support for the President across the South-West, stressing that their directive from the Minister of Interior is to mobilize women and sensitise them on the importance of re-electing Tinubu in 2027.

Also speaking, the Director-General of AMG, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, said the group has intensified grassroots mobilisation to ensure massive support for the APC and President Tinubu.

He maintained that the achievements of the administration would earn the President a second term.

“Things have come down drastically. NELFUND is ongoing for the benefit of our students, among other projects for Nigerians,” Asagunla said

“What we are out for is to sensitise our people about the good works of our President through the Renewed Hope Agenda. We all know how much petrol was selling before and how much it is now. It is high time we support a better government.”

Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has inaugurated its women’s wing in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, with a call for unity, mobilisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The state Women Coordinator of AMG and former commissioner, Yetunde Adeyanju, expressed appreciation to the leadership of the group and hailed the women for their steadfastness and courage despite intimidation and harassment.

She said the purpose of the gathering was to sensitise women across the state on the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, emphasising that Ondo State women must take the lead in mobilising massive support for his victory.

Adeyanju lauded President Tinubu for his developmental projects in Ondo State and across the country, as well as his empowerment initiatives that had positively impacted women through federal schemes.

She also commended the Minister of Interior and convener of AMG, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his people-oriented leadership and continuous support for women in Ondo State.

She described him as “a minister with a human face, ever willing to listen and always ready to help.”

She said his stabilising role in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State could not be overemphasised.

The women offered prayers for the minister’s continued success in office and in all his endeavours.

Adeyanju reaffirms that as the AMG state women coordinator, her mandate is to ensure every woman in Ondo State votes for the APC and President Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

She said AMG women’s wing would intensify its campaigns across the nooks and crannies of the state, with ward-level meetings and grassroots engagements to guarantee overwhelming victory for the President.

Asiwaju Mandate Group urges Tunji-Ojo to ignore critics

The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has called on Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to remain focused and undistracted by the recent wave of media propaganda orchestrated by political detractors who feel threatened by his rising influence and unmatched record of service.

In a statement jointly signed by the Director-General of the Group, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, and the Chairman, Leaders’ Council, Senator Yele Omogunwa, the group described the ongoing media attacks against Dr. Tunji-Ojo (BTO)  as “a desperate attempt by political jobbers and failed opportunists to malign a man whose impact has become too significant and conspicuous to be ignored.”

The statement reads in part: “Beyond political rhetoric, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has transformed lives and strengthened democratic structures far beyond what anyone thought possible for a minister without executive powers. His record of empowerment and strategic leadership stands tall in Ondo State and the nation’s political space.”

The group recalled with emphasis the pivotal role Tunji-Ojo played during the political crisis that nearly led to the impeachment of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa when he served as Deputy Governor.

“At a time when the State was on the brink of political turmoil, Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s intervention was decisive. He stood firmly to ensure that members of the State House of Assembly earlier compromised were revived to look up to the cabal then working against the Deputy Governor. It was his timely mediation and influence that helped preserve stability and the sanctity of Ondo State’s political structure,” the statement reads.

AMG further commended Tunji-Ojo’s unrelenting efforts in sustaining the political mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, describing him as “one of the few public figures who have matched loyalty with strategic action.”

The group also highlighted Tunji-Ojo’s unprecedented contributions to strengthening the APC structure across Ondo State.

Addressing recent calls by some political actors urging President Tinubu to stop the Minister from contesting the 2028 Ondo Governorship election, AMG stated emphatically that the right to aspire is constitutionally guaranteed and ultimately rests with the people.

“Let it be known that every citizen, including Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, reserves the democratic right to seek elective office. However, the Honourable Minister has neither declared any ambition nor hinted at such.

“Those spreading unfounded rumours are only exposing their fears and inadvertently affirming his political worth. For now, his total focus remains on delivering effectively as Minister of Interior and ensuring the success of President Tinubu’s administration.”
