  • FirstBank assures customers of quality service

    FirstBank of Nigeria Limited (FirstBank) has assured its customers of enhanced services across its networks nationwide. In a customers’ forum held in Lagos, the bank had highlighted its new products and services, including e-business services, alternative channels, and the various transformational initiatives of the Bank over the past one year.

    Speaking at the forum, FirstBank’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Bisi Onasanya said as a pan Nigerian financial institution, the lender recognizes the need for periodic interaction with its customers to foster efficient service delivery. “We believe every business is as strong as the value it places on its customers. We are very passionate about our customers and see this forum as a platform to receive feedback from our customers and further position the Bank to delight our customers and partner with them on sundry financial advisory services and business growth initiatives,” he said.

    Onasanya said the bank had since deployed an operating model that realigned its market facing business units from a geographic focus to a customer segmented approach to deepen its understanding of each customer segment.

     

     

  • Oshiomhole assures monks of govt’s support

    Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole has assured monks in the Order of St Benedict in Ewu of the government’s support.

    The governor spoke in his office in Benin, the state capital, while hosting the monks, who were led by their Prior, Rev. Peter Eghwrujakpor.

    Oshiomhole said: “Since you are not a profit making organisation and you are part of Edo State, the state government can be of help to your activities with our state-owned electronic and print media.

    “You are involved in a spiritual lifestyle of total abstinence in the service of God. You need support to help mankind in the way you have chosen to.

    “We have to take advantage of our state media to inform the public on the need to take advantage of the services you provide.”

    Rev. Eghwrujakpor congratulated the governor on his victory in the election and prayed for wisdom and strength to enable him serve the people.

    He said: “We do not come out often, but hear of the good things you are doing and we assure you of our prayers.

    “With over 200 workers in the monastery, we are considered one of the best job creators in the Esan region as well as our impartation of spiritual and psychology wellbeing, it is against this background that we seek government’s assistance”.

  • We’re better prepared to handle floods, Lagos assures

    Lagos State has appealed to residents not to panic over persistent downpour and the attendant flooding because measures have been put in place to manage such situations.

    Speaking with journalists shortly after the September edition of the sanitation exercise yesterday, the Head of Service, Mr. Adesegun Ogunlewe, said Lagos will not experience the devastating floods recorded in other parts of the nation.

    Ogunlewe, who led the monitoring team, said government had cleared many of the drainage channels, adding that expansion of canals is ongoing to tackle the challenges of flooding.

    According to him: “We are well prepared and the drains this year have been cleared and we have also warned that all those living close to the canals evacuate those areas for the government to have easy access. We will work to ensure that that flooding is reduced to barest minimum.”
