  • Osupa, Atorise, others, to grace interdenominational Easter fiesta

    Deadline gospel singers – Lanre Teriba (Atorise), Esther Igbekele, AY Sax and Segun Opontisun would be joining Islamic singers like El-hadj Wasiu Kayode Sideeq, (Babanwaka) and Alhaja Mujidat Lawal, (wabilahi Taofeek) at an Interdenominational Easter fiesta.

    The fiesta which has as theme, ‘Man: God’s creation for love and harmony,’ is organised by the Trinity Cherubim and Seraphim House of Worship, Worldwide Ministry (Agbo Jesu) would hold on Thursday, April 18, at the church’s Lagos Headquarters in Iju, Obawole from 4pm to 10pm.

    Top comedians Sunday Omobolanle (Pappy Luwe), Dejo Tufulu and MC Kirikiri would act as Masters of ceremony.

    Organiser of the event, Prophet Samuel Mustapha (Ramsalam) said Fuji musicians Saheed Osupa and Saridon P would be making special appearances too.

    Other artistes slated to perform at the event are Alayo Melody Singers, Amb. Segun Nabi, Amb. Akinola Dugbe, Alhaja Amina Babalola (Omotaiyebi) and Prophetess Omolola Ajunilo.

  • Telemi, Atorise, Ere Asalatu, others for Ijebu Praise Concert

    POPULAR gospel and Islamic choral singers, including Timi Osukoya aka Telemi; Lanre Teriba aka Atorise; Bukola Alayande aka Ere Asalatu; Ajoke Omolope and Bola Obi, among others, will be performing at the maiden edition of an inter-denominational concert tagged ”Ijebu Praise Concert.

    Expected at the event slated for December 1, 2017, are socialites from Ijebu axis of Ogun State, and high profile personalities across the country.

    The organiser of the event, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, a member representing Ijebu Central Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said: “The event is not a political or religious gathering. We should have a day to praise God, which is why we choose the first day of the last month for the year to stage the concert. It is a day we want to use to praise God, irrespective of your religion or tribe, which is what we want to use that day for. It is not for Ijebu or Ogun state alone but for the whole federation. I observed we don’t always praise God enough in this country; hence, we want to use that day to praise God.

    “It is not for Ijebu people alone, you will notice that in this country people don’t praise God enough, that is why we choose that day, it is not a political or religious gathering but purely a day set aside to praise God and glorify Him for His mercies over us. I believe if we praise God well in this country, we will have the fear of God in our heart.”

    Atorise in Canada for tour

    Celebrated singer, Lanre Teriba popularly known as Atorise, last Monday landed in Canada with some of his band members.

    Atorise, who was elated about the development, said the tour will be a series of music festivals.

    “It is a series of music festivals tagged Nigerian Cultural Heritage in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary.

    “I will perform in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Niagara Falls. Canadians requested my music and I am going to make sure my performances are unforgettable.

    “This is another manifestation of God’s awesomeness. Everything about me and around me is always a pointer to God’s unflinching love towards me.

    “It is a one-month tour to Canada in celebration of Canada at 150 years,” he said in a chat.

    The singer, who is billed to release his next album, Your Excellency in August, told our reporter that Canada will launch his global tour series for 2017.

     

  • Atorise, Mega ‘99, Esther Igbekele, others for Adegbodu twins’ concert

    POPULAR Ibadan-based gospel singers, Taiwo and Kehinde Adegbodu, have concluded plans to stage an all-white music concert tagged ”Sacrament of Praise Festival,” scheduled to hold on July 30.

    Notable gospel artistes including Lanre Teriba aka Atorise; Mike Abdul; Esther Igbekele; Dare Melody; Mega ’99;Bisi Alawiye; Bukola Akinade aka Senwele Jesu and Rotimi Daniel Kenery, will perform at the event.

    Disclosing the arrangement to journalists in Lagos, Kehinde Adegbodu revealed that the maiden edition of the concert, powered by FKS Music Records, will hold at the Rock Event Centre, Egbeda, Lagos.

    The gospel crooners also revealed that they have relocated to Lagos, not because of any threats from their contemporaries in Ibadan, but to consolidate their music career and seek greener pastures in Lagos, which is the country’s entertainment headquarters.

    ”My twin brother and I have decided to move to the Lagos metropolis in order to change our environment and expand our fan-base. It is not because we have a studio in Lagos aside the one we have in Ibadan. As a matter of fact, we still visit Ibadan regularly for shows and to see our band members who are based in the ancient city. Although, we still have our properties in Ibadan, but we get more shows in Lagos.”

    A co-organiser of the concert, Evangelist Segun Daramola aka Ajidara, said the event was planned to showcase the right ways of praising God and giving Him undiluted praises.

    ”The concert is an inter-denominational event that will attract people from diverse churches. It is a platform for unlimited adoration of God and it would henceforth be an annual event to showcase the best ways to give God genuine praises,” Ajidara said.

    The event, according to the organisers, will also witness ministration by Prophet Obafemi Akinade of Lion of Judah Ministries, among other men of God.

    Atorise declares interest as GOMAN Vice President

    Nigerian leading gospel singer, Lanre Teriba, has declared his interest in becoming the Vice President of Gospel and Music Association of Nigeria (GOMAN).

    The singer who is fondly called Atorise made this known while addressing his alleged expulsion from GOMAN.

    According to him, “I remember that I am a professional artiste and I am still a full-time member of GOMAN. And anytime soon, I am coming out as the vice president of GOMAN.”

    Atorise further addressed the rumour that trailed his personality and the association. “Rumor is normal, it is when you are relevant that people get to talk about you; when you are not a relevant artiste people won’t say anything about you. Indisputably, it is one of those things we pay for, being a star.”

    The controversial artiste also lamented the support the Nigerian entertainment industry is lacking from the President Buhari-led administration.

    “President Muhammadu Buhari has nothing to offer the entertainment industry,” he said.

    He said this in reference to the terrible state of Nigerian economy as well as Buhari’s lack of plans for the entertainment industry.

    ”I see President Muhammadu Buhari as someone who doesn’t like entertainment at all and indisputably, this will affect the industry”. He further claimed.

    His debut album, titled Atorise made him a prominent face in the gospel world.

    However, despite his huge success recorded in his musical career, controversies has been trailing his brand as an inspirational artiste.

     

     

  • Atorise, Dare Melody set for Jesuko’s harvest service

    All is set for the 29th annual harvest thanksgiving service of Jesuko Parish of the Celestial Church of Christ, Alaba, Lagos. Gospel artistes within and outside Lagos are set to grace the occasion with ministration through music.

    The event whose theme is “Voice of God” will feature sensational gospel artistes like Lanre Teriba popularly known as Atorise; Busola Oke a.k.a. Eleyele; Dare Melody; Esther Igbekele and others. The event will last for seven days, beginning on December 1. Superintendent / Evangelist (Dr) Gabriel Adomeh will be the chief host of the thanksgiving service.

    Last year, the 28th annual harvest thanksgiving service didn’t fall short of expectations and members of Celestial Christian Church went all out to make the service eventful.

    Pasuma, Atorise for album launch

    Popular fuji musician, Wasiu Alabi, aka Pasuma and gospel singer, Lanre Teriba, popularly known as Atorise are among dignitaries expected to grace the launch of undiluted praise, the maiden album of Bayo Apata today.

    It holds at Mariana Hotel and Suite Adura bus/stop along Abeokuta Expressway in Lagos by 12noon.

    Apata began his musical career as a choir master in Genesis Model Parish led by Prophet Israel Oladele (Genesis).

    He was part of the youth caucus of the late Roland Olubukola Olomola (Baba Ara) and performed with him on many occasions.
