  • Be mindful of your comments on Buhari – BMO cautions Secondus

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has called on the national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Uche Secondus, to refrain from making inflammatory comments capable of inciting Nigerians against President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration.

The organization’s Chairman, Mr Austin Braimoh, and its Secretary, Mr Cassidy Madueke, made the call in a jointly signed statement in Abuja on Wednesday.

The group described Secondus’ allegation at the PDP rally in Ekiti, that Pesident Buhari was responsible for the killings across the country, as careless and inciting.

According to the organisation, such inflammatory comments are capable of exacerbating the current security situation in the country.

“For the information of Mr Secondus and his co-travellers, we need to remind them that under their past administrations, Nigeria was under siege and nearly collapsed, but for the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration that has already brought the situation under control.

“As we approach the 2019 elections, he should always weigh the implication of his public comments to avoid the possibility of plunging the country into unnecessary crisis.

“As the chairman of the leading opposition party, he must realize that he owes it a duty to the country to exhibit the highest sense of decorum in his conduct and public utterances,” it said.

The organization called on security agencies to caution Secondus to desist forthwith from making such comments.

  • BMO replies r-APC, counts Buhari’s achievements

The Buhari Media Organisation ( BMO ) on Monday said President Muhammadu Buhari had recorded landmark achievements within short period of time compared to past leaders that had governed the country.
The Chairman of the organisation, Mr Austin Braimoh, said this in a statement in Abuja while reacting to remarks from the reformed All Progressives Congress (r-APC) that Buhari’s administration was a failure.
Braimoh explained that Buhari’s government had succeeded where past leaders failed, as he has embarked on unprecedented projects and policy moves that are reforming Nigeria and delivering on the promises he made.
“Contrary to the puerile remarks by the assembly of desperados, otherwise known as r-APC, apparently in desperation to justify their plans to exit the ruling All Progressives Congress.
“As they look to ingratiate their personal selfish agenda, we direct their attention to the fact that the Buhari administration is currently feeding over 8 million primary school children across the country.
“It is fixing and constructing roads in their hundreds across the country, transforming the Second Niger Bridge from mere political campaign tool as used by previous administrations to a reality.
“Buba Galadima cannot stay in his Abuja residence, out of touch with the remarkable developments across the country and without evaluation, utter such puerile remarks,” he explained.
The chairman said that it was unfortunate and profoundly insulting that the renegade group led by Galadima compared Buhari’s three years’ administration to that of the previous failures in the past 16 years.

“We assert that it is evident that Mr Galadima is a man blinded by passion of hatred borne out of his inability to realise his base material aspirations in the Buhari administration.
“He refuses to acknowledge and comprehend the quantum of challenges and work on ground for the Buhari administration to fix.”
Braimoh wondered if any government in the past had recovered the quantum of stolen loots as recorded under the Buhari administration.
According to him, the Anchor Borrowers Programme of the Buhari administration has been giving loans to farmers engaged in rice and wheat farming where over 250,000 farmers have benefitted.
He added that it had led to historical high production in local food crops and particularly setting the country on the path of rice sufficiency.
“If governments in the past had been this sincere in transforming the lives of Nigerians and invested half as much in the Nigerian people as the Buhari administration is doing, Nigeria would by now have developed characteristics very much like the proverbial Eldorado,” he said.
Braimoh called on the Oshiomole-led APC to seek a declaration of the court to declare the Buba Galadima led r-APC illegal, and also advised that it commences processes of expelling them from the party.
He commended genuinely aggrieved members of the party who had stuck through thick and thin with the party and are willing to work with the new leadership of the party to resolve the various challenges facing it.

  • Buhari is hero of Nigerian democracy – Group

Ask Obasanjo to stop distracting attention from stolen Power funds

The Buhari Media Organization has said that President Muhammadu Buhari could be described as the father of Nigeria’s modern democracy, saying his courage in declaring June 12 as Democracy day and righting the wrongs and ills of 25 years of a faulty democratic foundation was a political masterstroke.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, Austin Braimoh and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke, the group described the President as the true hero of democracy, noting that he has set high standards of political maturity and established that the will of the people must be respected in Nigeria.

They said: “President Buhari has established that under him, votes would count, even where they were illegally discountenanced, they would count, and honour would be ascribed to those who deserve it.

“The President’s move has proven his critics and their baseless opinions about him wrong. President Buhari has not just claimed to espouse and embrace democratic ideals, he has gone ahead to set worthy and enviable standards for democracy in Nigeria.”

The group noted that the President, unlike his predecessors, has not interfered with any state or local government elections with the apparatus of state, but rather he has allowed for free and fair elections dictated by the will of the people to take place under him.

The statement said the President’s insistence on the holding of Party Congresses in the APC in the bid to ensure true intra-party democracy is a further proof of his demonstration of democratic ideals worthy of recognition.

“No President in Nigeria has shown a truer embrace and practice of democracy as President Buhari has. His respect for the principles that every vote must count, that the will of the people must not be thwarted and that democratic institutions must be upheld has been further expressed in his declaration that June 12 will be the new Democracy Day; there is no gainsaying that President Buhari is the father of Nigeria’s modern democracy”, he said.

The BMO asked former President Olusegun Obasanjo not to use his recent allegation of planned arrest on trumped-up charges by the current administration to dodge questions on misappropriation of $16 billion on Power during his eight years’ administration.

The group noted that what former President Obasanjo is trying to do with his unfounded allegation of  imminent arrest is to divert the minds of Nigerians from his unanswered question of squandering the humongous $16bn on power during his eight years administration.

“We want to state that the Buhari Administration will not be distracted by any shenanigan, any unfounded allegation from any quarter, especially those capable of causing disaffection among Nigerians and portraying government in bad light.

“Former President Obasanjo should not be afraid of any trumped-up charges as that is not in the character of President Muhammadu Buhari nor that of his administration.  Only the guilty should be worried.”

They assured Nigerians that the current administration is strongly committed to the tenets of democracy, freedom of speech and the right to dissent, stressing that those who, in their time, were untethered to those principles would find it hard to believe.

  • Buhari supporters caution Senators against use of foul language

Supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari under the auspices of Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG) has asked the Senate leadership to caution senators from using foul language on Nigerian leaders on the floor of the senate and during plenary.

The Buhari supporters said it take exception to what it described as conspiratorial stance by some senators against the government of President Muhammadu Buhari with emphasis on abuse of immunity, which emboldens them to use incendiary remarks on the President at different times during their sittings.

In a statement signed by Chairman and Secretary, Austin Braimoh and Cassidy Madueke respectively, the group said it was particularly uncharitable for Senator Eyinaya Abaribe to use foul language against the President who was quoted as saying that Nigerians have been indulging the President he referred to as “incompetent”

BMSG said it took exception to such remarks by Senator Abaribe, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) member during Thursday Plenary, describing it as reprehensible, his action amounting to an irresponsible brand of politics that the opposition has been exhibiting over time.

The group calls on the Nigerian Senate leadership to always prevent its chamber from turning into a circus that allows use of profane and insulting language as lingua franca with the President of Nigeria being often verbally abused.

While asking the Senate leadership to call members to order on use of intemperate language to address the president, It said, “Senator Abaribe’s comments on the floor of the Senate which engendered a rowdy session are not just shameful to the institution of the Nigerian Senate, but such defiles the hallowed office of the President and even the Senate Chamber.

They also called on Senator Abaribe to tender an unreserved apology to Nigerians and to the President of Nigeria on the ill-conceived remarks credited to him and for him to know henceforth, that the Chamber of the Senate is not to be desecrated in any way.

  • MASSOB leader accused of spreading falsehood

MASSOB leader accused of spreading falsehood

The Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG) on Tuesday accused the leader of the Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike of deliberately spreading a falsehood that the Buhari administration was marginalizing the South-Eastern part of the country.

The group in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja said no government in Nigeria has shown more determination to develop the South-East like the determination so far shown by the Buhari government.

The statement signed by the Chairman of the group, Austin Braimoh and Secretary, Chief Cassidy Madueke, the group said that Uwazuruike’s comments have proven that “he has been a master of deceit all the years that he has operated as the leader of MASSOB”.

“We have observed the churlish, but apparently unsuccessful attempts by some individuals to confuse unsuspecting Nigerians with deliberately spawned narratives casting Buhari’s administration as one with scant regards for the development of the South-East geo-political zone and the equitable consideration of the people of that region in political appointments and other political opportunities.

“The best way to treat characters like Uwazuruike is to totally disregard his voice of falsehood and propaganda since it has become evident that the Buhari administration means well for the South East”.

The group described Uwazuruike’s comments as delusional and unfounded as the Buhari administration has made the South East region a priority in its appointment and development agenda.

It said three prominent Ministries which include Foreign Affairs, Trade and Investment as well as Labour are being manned by Ministers from the South Eastern part of the country.

The group noted that in the past, very few governments made infrastructural development across the country a priority but that the present administration has not just shown the political will to correct that deficit, but has put its money where its mouth is by beginning unprecedented infrastructural development projects across the nation.

BMSG further observed that the Buhari administration has commenced the construction, maintenance and reconstruction of major roads networks in the South-East which were abandoned over the years.

Apart from the road projects, the group said that the construction of the second Niger Bridge which was abandoned by previous administrations has commenced.

“Besides, we are all witnesses to the affirmative action taken by the President in diffusing the growing tension over the matter of ill-advised quit notice by a group of Arewa youths to the Igbos.

“The President was characteristically assertive in the management of the growing imbroglio which threatened the very existence of the country at that time,” BMSG said.

The group advised Nigerians to be cautious of divisive personalities who are in the business of fueling hatred and division along ethnic and religious divides, noting that President Buhari is committed to a united Nigeria.
