Many without a sense of history limit President Bola Tinubu’s relationship with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the bitter fallout surrounding last year’s general election.
But before the 2023 polls, the two had been long-time friends and political associates. Yesterday, rivalry took a back seat as the duo met at the wedding Fatiha of the daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje at the National Mosque in Abuja.

It was all handshakes, jokes and laughter. In the background observing the exchanges between Tinubu and Atiku are APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, standing next to the ex-VP, and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, right. Both friends must have said something extremely funny to each other, judging by the radiant looks of the distinguished onlookers. Surely, an object lesson that politics doesn’t have to be do-or-die.
