Suspected robbers have dispossessed students of the University of Ibadan (UI) of their valuables during a raid on the Awolowo Hall of residence in the early hours of Saturday.
Lost items, The Nation gathered, include assorted mobile telephone handsets, jewelries, clothing and other valuables.
Aside the lost items, The Nation gathered that the affected students were tortured during the raids that lasted for few hours.
A source stated the security section was alerted by the screams of the affected students and hurriedly swung into action.

Some of the arrested suspects have been handed over at the Sango Police Station.
It was learnt a manhunt has launched for other fleeing suspects.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Mrs. Joke Akinpelu, said the reports from the Hall wardens stated that the robbers carted away the mobile handsets of the students.
Efforts to reach Police Public Relations Officer CSP Adewale Osifeso for further confirmation proved abortive.
