Firm launches digital motor inspection tool

AXA Mansard Insurance has launched a digital motor insurance inspection process aimed at making vehicle inspection faster and more convenient for customers.

The new solution, powered by insurance technology firm Curacel, allows customers to carry out required vehicle inspections by uploading photographs of their vehicles using their smartphones.

It applies to the initiation of comprehensive motor insurance policies, policy renewals, and claims assessment.

The company said the tool is part of its ongoing drive to simplify and personalise insurance services through digitisation.

Images submitted by customers are scanned through an automated review system, which generates inspection reports that are integrated into AXA Mansard’s existing underwriting and claims processes.

Commenting on the launch, Chief Technology Officer, AXA Mansard Insurance, Chizuru Nwankwonta, said the innovation would reduce delays associated with physical inspections.

“At AXA Mansard, we continue to introduce solutions that make insurance processes easier and faster. This digital inspection option reduces the need for physical assessments and gives customers more flexibility in completing key stages of their motor insurance journey,” she said.

The digital inspection system was developed in collaboration with Curacel, whose platform supports image submission, automated screening, and document processing.

AXA Mansard said the partnership reflects its strategy of working with external technology providers to enhance specific operational functions.

The company added that the digital inspection process is now available nationwide and can be accessed through its customer platforms and links provided during motor insurance onboarding.

Insurance firm to empower more customers in new schemes

AXA Mansard Insurance, member of AXA, has said its two schemes – AXA Mansard Awoof Xtra and Double-Double Promo  will run till June.

The firm said the decision was to allow more Nigerians and its customers whose policies were still active last year to benefit.

AXA Mansard Awoof Xtra and Double-Double are designed for the Third Party and Comprehensive motor insurance categories.

Under the Awoof Xtra promo scheme, customers who buy or renew their Third Party Motor Insurance will also get gifts.

She said: “For us at AXA Mansard, we will continue to push the boundaries to find increased ways of getting more Nigerians to embrace the insurance culture.

“We are convinced one way to drive insurance penetration in Nigeria is for more people to see insurance in action. Our citizens can’t see insurance in action when they don’t have insurance policies. So, we believe extending this promo will allow more Nigerians to try out insurance and know it is as rewarding as any other financial service they are used to…’’

Chief Executive Officer, Kunle Ahmed, said the two schemes have again showed AXA Mansard’s commitment to the growth of insurance , explaining that the choice of motor and fire insurance as anchor products is deliberate.

He said: “We understand motor insurance is one product most Nigerians can relate to…’’

So, we see this as an opportunity to leverage that advantage to, on the one hand, get more people to insure their vehicles and, on the other hand, get more Nigerians to try out home insurance in the process. We believe that this initiative alongside others will help drive the level of penetration and will get more Nigerians to try out insurance and let them experience how it works by themselves”.

“We have invested heavily in insurance education over the years. We will continue to do that.

But this year, we are taking that investment a step further by giving free fire insurance to cover the home of every customer who insures their vehicle comprehensively with us. You will agree with me that this is a considerable investment, but one that we are convinced must be done, and as a leader in this industry, we are committed to continuing this initiative “, Ahmed affirmed.
