    10 days in Sun City premiered, released in Lagos

    The most anticipated movie of the year, 10 days in Sun City has been premiered.

    The movie shot in Sun City, Northern West Province of South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria was premiered on Saturday 17th June 2017 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos and was released in Nigerian on Friday June 23rd.

    In the movie, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, featured a journey to the beautiful Sun City in South Africa with fellow cast– Richard Mofe Damijo, Adesua Etomi, Gbenro Ajibade, Mercy Johnson Okojie, Falz, 2face Idibia, Alibaba, Alex Ekubo, Yvonne Jegede, Annie Idibia, Uti Nwachukwu, Fathia Balogun among others.

    Aside the A-list Nigerian cast, the hilarious star-studded comedy movie also featured Miguel Nunez Jr. a Hollywood actor and an equally hilarious South African cast consisting, Amanda Du Pont, comedian Thenjiwe Moseley, Celeste Ntuli and lots more.

    10 days in Sun City was directed by award-winning South African-based Nigerian Director Adze Ugah, written by award-winning writer-director Kehinde Ogunlola and produced by Ayo Makun, Darlington Abuda and Kirsty Galliard.

    One of the outstanding scenes from the movie was the Elephant Sanctuary scene which featured the stars having an interactive elephant experience.

    Other breath-taking scenes in the movie are; Hartebeespoort Dam,locally known as Harties. It is  famous for its sunset cruises as it is for the Lesedi Cultural village, which showcases the fascinating cultures and tradition of the people of South Africa. The scenes in Johannesburg showcased the famous Sandton City and the world renowned Nelson Mandela Square.

    South African tourism in a statement  by  it regional manager in West Africa, Mr Hloni Pitso expressed delight to have partnered with AY on the production of the movie adding that it served as an avenue to showcase South Africa as a holiday and business destination as well as encouraging inter-Africa travel.

    The statement reads in part: “We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Ayo Makun on what promises to be yet another blockbuster production. AY is a passionate, determined, dedicated and hardworking individual. This time last year on one of South African Tourism’s influencer hosting trips AY saw opportunities as he travelled throughout South Africa. He did not hesitate to seize the opportunity when he decided that this had to be a location for his next movie. A year later, we are here in Lagos for the movie premiere to watch the much anticipated movie “10 Days in Sun City”.

     “We saw this partnership as an opportunity not only to showcase South Africa as a holiday and business destination but also as a platform to encourage inter-Africa travel. It is important for Africans to explore their own land and discover its people. It is through travel and tourism that we can learn about each other’s historical and cultural heritages. Tourism, entertainment, arts and culture are the key sectors that have the potential to unify this continent through people to people relations for the better advancement of Africa. We are seeing this more and more lately through music collaborations, comedy and now movies. I trust we will see more of such partnerships and collaborations.  Africa united, only greater things can come.”

    AY Live: Celebrities, fans light up event

    Popular Comedian ‘AY’, real name Ayo Makun and his celebrity friends in the entertainment industry, thrilled their fans with a superlative performances in a live comedy show tagged ‘AY LIVE’.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, it was a pumped up night at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, venue of the staged show on Easter Sunday.

    From the biggest names in entertainment, corporate world to comedy and music lovers, all came to have a good Easter celebration time and party at the AYLIVE.

    The main venue, Eko Hotels and Suites was jam packed and corridors adorned with blue carpet

    Tickets, regulars, VIP and VVIP and a million naira-priced tables were sold out.

    “The AYLive has definitely been one show I look forward to during Easter holidays,” popular Actress Adesua Etomi told NAN.

    “I’m here to have fun, laugh, listen to good music and make the best of this holiday break,” she said.

    Similarly, Actress Grace Amah said that she came to have fun and watch every act perform.

    A rich lineup of acts were expected to come out and give fans a show and they didn’t disappoint.

    Comedians, Kenny Blaq, Osama, came through with their aura of distinctive stage persona, making beautiful comedy music and cracking jokes at the same time.

    Also comedians Pencil and Ajebutter were armed with their voice earned a resounding applause from the audience at every round of their performance.

    Freeze and AY were official hosts for the evening, while DJ Consequence provided the music.

    Big Brother Naija contestants, Efe (winner), Bisola, CoCo Ice Thin Tall Tony, Kemen, Debbie Rise, Uriel, Ese, Soma, T-Boss, and others were present.

    Housemates, CoCo Ice and Soma performed their songs, bringing the energy to warm up the crowd for more exciting performances to come.

    Singer Tekno thrilled the crowd with his sheer energy and range of crowd favourite songs, as Davido came through with ‘Dami duro’ with fireworks all over the stage.

    Davido also performed his classics and his reigning song ‘IF’ to the joy of the fans and the audience went wild.

    Ayo Makun (AY)’s 30 Days in Atlanta, a romantic comedy film has been identified by the Guinness World Record for its high domestic gross earnings.

    The romantic movie was recognised as of the films with the highest domestic gross earnings when compared with Hollywood’s Stars Wars and Bollywood’s PK.

    The movie, which featured top Nollywood actors like Desmond Elliot, Majid Michel, Ramsey Noah and produced by stand-up comedian, AY, recorded a gross N135million in Nigeria three months after its release.

    No doubt, this is a big success for the Nigerian film industry, Nollywwod, which currently posses as the largest in Africa.

Ace comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly called AY, is a man of many talents who have garnered fans across the globe. His marriage to his stunning light-skinned wife, Mabel, is one of the most admired on the social scene. However, the man of many smiles is currently feeling blue, as break-up tales are about to rock his marriage.

    It is alleged that there is a raging storm in the home of the talented entertainment genius. The whisper, which is becoming quite loud, is that his beautiful wife has moved out of their matrimonial home. The couple got married in 2008 and are blessed with a daughter. AY, who is currently out of the country, has not directly debunked this tale. Friends and well wishers have already taken to social media, advising the couple to strive to make things work in their home.

    Comedian Ayo Makun aka AY is set to host another show, tagged AY Live Comedy and Music on November 17, at Indigo 02 Arena. This is coming on the heels of his OHTV outing in Manchester, which allegedly failed and seen as an insult to international audience.

    Unfazed, AY is said to have sent an invitation to the Queen of England to attend the show as the special personality of the day.

    Although the Queen has not replied, the comedian hoped the show would be successful.

    The show, with performers like Sir Shina Peters, Lola Rae, Moelogo, will feature I Go Dye, Helen Paul, Elenu and Pencil.
