The Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Diaspora has felicitated with the Chairman, APC Scandinavia, Ayoola Lawal as his wife delivers a baby boy in the early hours of Wednesday in Sweden

At the announcement of the arrival of the baby, the Scandinavian chapter of the APC congratulates the new baby’s father, thanking God for the safe delivery of the bundle of joy.

Speaking with The Nation in a telephone conversation, elated Mr Lawal simply said: “I am most grateful to God for the safe delivery and the arrival of my boy. I am really happy.

“Special thanks to all the APC Diaspora Chairmen, GMB Support Group, Good Governance, APC Scandinavia Executives and everyone who sent messages through social media, text messages and even phone calls and pray that such good news will not elude you all.”

  • Nigerians in diaspora reject CCT act amendment

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Scandinavia, Ayoola Lawal has described the ongoing attempt by the senate to amend the Code of Conduct Tribunal Act as a shameful and illegal act that must be resisted by all means.
He made this known on Monday in a  press statement, stressing that members of the Red Chamber cannot be talking about amendment of the CCT Act when the present administration is fighting the main scourge of Nigeria, corruption, by all means.

Ayoola noted that many constitutional lawyers have remarked that the project is dead on arrival because it is a constitutional matter and ‘the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria cannot be amended by an act of the National Assembly.

Ayoola quoted one of the senior lawyers saying: “The sections they are trying to amend are clearly stated in the constitution and could only be reviewed through a legally acceptable constitution amendment process.”
The Chairman, APC Scandinavia, also quoted a statement credited to Senator Biodun Olujimi (PDP-Ekiti State) on an online news source, during the second reading of the bill last Thursday.
According to Ayoola, Olujimi said: “If you don’t assist your neighbor when his house is burning, it will extend to yours.”

However, APC chief noted that the statement credited to Olujimi further confirmed the sentiment in the air that the senate are trying to suddenly change the law to save the senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki, who has been standing trial for alleged asset declaration.
“It is a pity that such a comment could be credited to someone who claimed to be defending the mandate of his people and the integrity of the Nigerian state.
“It will be insane for anyone to try to save just a neighbor when an entire institution that is a pillar to the nation will be under siege in such attempt. Such a statement calls for the appropriate authority and the citizens to put such a person or group of people under watch.

“If the other members of the Nigerian senate can not stop the peddlers of the illegal act who are smearing the image of the senate of Nigeria, we will take the appreciate steps to in filing a case against them before the international community which Nigeria is a signatory member on such related matters.

“Meanwhile, I implore we citizens to keep eyes on the people at the helms of affairs who are trying to take us backward wasting taxpayer’s money and playing politics devoid of morality and common sense.
“Nigeria deserves men of integrity and honor with the fire of patriotism in the helms of affairs of legislation and across the board and not otherwise. God bless Nigeria,” he maintained.

APC Scandinavia celebrates Tinubu at 64

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Scandinavian chapter, Ayoola Lawal on Tuesday felicitates with the National Chairman of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his birthday.

To mark his 64th birthday, Tinubu is organizing a one-day colloquium in Abuja to explore the possibilities in the agriculture sector as Nigeria moves to expand its revenue base.

According to Lawal, Tinubu is a leader per excellent, one that has contributed immensely to Nigerian democracy, adding that Nigerians should appreciate the sacrificial leader.

“Words cannot sufficiently describe what amount of blessing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is to this generation, at this time and period.

“Of a truth, Nigeria needs more leaders like him who can dedicate their everything to national good rather than for selfish interests.

“It is sad how some supposed leaders pile up billions of citizens hard earned currency only for themselves and family, while others wallow in abject poverty.

“If not for the strong conviction of Asiwaju Tinubu that ousted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power after 16 years of selfish leadership, only God knows what fate would have befallen the country by now.

“We celebrate your doggedness, selflessness and kind heart on this occasion of your 64 birthday and pray that we see more of you in good health,” Lawal said.

  • APC Scandinavia blame budget missing, padding on Politicians

APC Scandinavia blame budget missing, padding on Politicians

The Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Scandinavia, Ayoola Lawal, has condemned the controversies trailing the 2016 Budget since it was presented to the senate.

According to him, the controversies can be linked to the unimaginable wicked corruption and power play that are currently in play in the country.

His words: To start with, to the nation’s consternation, the Senate announced that the Nigeria budget document for 2016 was nowhere to be found in the hallowed chamber where it was kept. This sort has never been heard in the history of Nigeria.

“However, the Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara made it known that the copy of the document in his own chamber was intact.”

Ayoola noted that all these discrepancies observed, resurfaced with the budget when it was later found.

“The Senate observed that there were differences between its copy and the one in the House of Representatives, which indicates that something was wrong somewhere.

“The budget missing, padding and doctoring is so shameful to the entire Nigerians both home and in the diaspora.

“It is obvious that the budget will not be passed except the discrepancies are sorted appropriately and this is hurting to the economy and the masses.

“The ways and manners the senate and the judiciary is handling the collective affairs of our nation is bugaboo and this call for urgent attention,” he said.

Ayoola further noted that the country cannot continue the present path of fuddy – duddy and expect a better Nigeria.

“It is not a rocket science to figure out that the issue surrounding the budget is much about the corruption, and power play while the entire nation is the victim of such wicked act.

“It is high time our politicians and judges called home their conscious and put the nation above their personal desires by walking a mile in the shoes of the masses.

“I implore Nigerians to exercise patience and continue to pray for the success of Mr. President, who we believe is the Moses of our time that we lead us out the present scourge of Corruption and bad leadership,” he said.

  • Why 66 convicted soldiers deserve freedom

Why 66 convicted soldiers deserve freedom

The Chairman/ National Coordinator of All Progressives Congress (APC) Scandinavia, Ayoola Lawal has commended the Nigerian Army for listening to the outcry of Nigerians and walked the path of honor by reviewing the death sentences passed on the soldiers that were accused of insurrection and mutiny.
The National Coordinator quoted a statement credited to the Nigerian Army spokesman, Col. Usman Sanni, as saying ‘the death sentences by firing squad passed on 66 soldiers in January and March 2015 by separate General Court Martials have been commuted to 10 years imprisonment each.’
“The sentence review was a confirmation of the attentive leadership of the new C-in-C of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
However, it is a known fact that the majority of Nigerians are not in the professional position to pass comment on what were purely military judgments.
“Meanwhile, in the light of the emerging facts on the Dasukigate and others, it will be more honourable and human if the Nigerian Army can delve further into the review 0f the 10 year sentence by relating it to the unfolding developments of the $2.1 billion meant for the procurement of the weapons to prosecute the insurgency in North Eastern, Nigeria, but intentionally diverted for personal and political purposes by the office of the National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd.),” he said.
According to Lawal, it is sad and unfortunate that the senior officers that were supposed to investigate the matter could not trace the investigations to the reality of non-availability of weapons as claimed by the convicted soldiers before the sentence.
“Special thanks to concerned Nigerians for their outcry and as well, the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, the convicted brave men in uniform would have been killed by firing squad.
“As much as Nigeria or her citizens would neither allow nor encourage any act of gross misconduct in the force, it will amount to the act of wickedness and injustice if the leaders that were supposed to provide leadership, cater for the well- being and also arm the followers with the appropriate tools refused but later turned to blame the followers for bad followership.
“As a matter of fairness, justice and patriotism, the convicted 66 soldiers should not be made the casualties of bad leadership of the past administration.
“I call on all well-meaning and concerned Nigerians home and diaspora to join hands further in imploring the C-in-C and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to please, order the review of the 10 year sentence and possibly grant the convicted brave men a presidential pardon,” Lawal pleaded.
He further warned that if the conviction is not handled with care, dismissing the 66 soldiers or sentencing them may further harden their hearts thereby making them a threat to the society upon release.
“These brave men have acquired survival skills so we should be careful how we force them to use the skills acquired from the Army. Nobody is even asking what will happen after the 10 year jail term. Will they be re-absorbed into the system or dismissed.

“Similarly, prominent Nigerians were pleading for amnesty for the terrorist group, Boko Haram, even as some of the arrested members of the sect were released, I therefore suggest Federal Government come in to give the brave men pardon,” Lawal pleaded.

He also noted that it is understandable that the military has set rules and guidelines, but advised that it be laid aside to save the innocent soldiers who displayed readiness to prosecute the battle against terror but were held back by lack of ammunition, which they protested.

  • APC diaspora hails Buhari at 73

APC diaspora hails Buhari at 73

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Scandinavia has on Thursday congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his birthday.

The APC diaspora said this in a statement issued by the National Coordinator, APC Scandinavia, Ayoola Lawal, who said that Buhari has defied his age limitations especially to have accepted the leadership of a country like Nigeria at this critical time.

According to Lawal, it is a very tasking responsibility for anyone that chooses to be a leader in Nigeria, especially being at the helm of affairs.

“Many people, who are younger, found it very difficult to cope with the challenges of leadership in Nigeria then compare a man of 73 years old.

“That is one of the major reasons for the high level of failure recorded in previous administrations in the country,” he observed.

The National Coordinator urged Nigerians to show more support for the President, especially after seeing what he had achieved within the first few months in office.

“If a man could fix things that went bad for about 16 years within few months, I think it is just logical to believe in what God can do through him in the next one, two or even four years.

“Nigerians should support President Buhari with loyalty, fairness in criticism and even in attitude to public facilities like drainage system, power supply and many more,” he summed.

  • Anti-Corruption war: APC Scandinavia hails FG

Anti-Corruption war: APC Scandinavia hails FG

The Chairman/ National coordinator of All Progressives Congress Scandinavia, Ayoola Lawal commends President Muhammad Buhari, the EFCC, and operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) for uncovering one of the biggest evil acts of corruption by our so-called leaders and politicians.

The recent developments on the $2 billion dollars Arms procurement scandal are mind boggling.

The statement credited to the ex-national security adviser on the disbursement of the money meant for procurement of weapons to fight the deadly terrorists, Boko Haram is heart wrecking and unbelievable.

Sometimes it is hard to reconcile the disbursement of the money meant for arms procurement to fight terrorist for personal and political purposes and advocating death sentence for the young and brave soldiers, who refused to move to the battle-field ill-equipped due to the lack of these arms.

Thank God for President Buhari, who called for re-investigation into the court marshall and the death sentences.

It is not news that so many brave men and women in uniform have been killed by the deadly insurgent due to the lack of appropriate weapons and equipment to fight the battle against the mentally sick group, Boko Haram.

Now that the battle against corruption is real and ongoing, it is a call on the judiciary and our lawmakers to live up to the expectations of Nigerians by giving the appropriate support to the war against corruption declared by the Buhari-led administration.

The National Coordinator urged, also pleaded with Nigerians to support the fight by patiently following the revelations and exposing those that they know are part of the misappropriation of public funds or abuse of office.

  • APC Diaspora honours MKO, others

    APC Diaspora honours MKO, others

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Scandinavia has honoured late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola popularly known as MKO with the Posthumous Award of Democracy Champion while Hon. Adedapo Lam –Adeshina was honored with an Outstanding Leadership Award.

The Awards of Outstanding Leadership was presented to Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adeshina by the National Women Leader, APC Scandinavia, Yeye Oge Mary Nike Brakner.

Hon. Lam-Adeshina in his speech of acceptance enthusiastically thanked APC Scandinavia members and promised to continue to live by the title of the award.

Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adeshina is one of the youngest and brilliant Members of Federal House of Representative, representing Oyo South-East/North-East Federal constituency.

He was a recipient because of his stallion performances in different capacities and for serving as a beacon of light and inspiration for both old  and younger generation  who already lost hope in good governance and youth inclusion in scheme of Nigeria democracy. Hon. Lam-Adeshina was one of the best minds that the Swedish Government selected for the 2015 VP SwedenAbroad, first of its kind in Sweden Nigeria foreign relations.

Late Chief MKO Posthumous Award of Democracy Champion was  presented by the Chairman/ National Coordinator of APC Scandinavia,  Mr. Ayoola Lawal and the award was received on behalf of MKO by Hon. Rinsola Abiola, daughter of  late MKO and the youngest board member of trustees of APC.

Rinsola displayed affection for the award when she thanked the APC Scandinavia for the recognition.

In her statement she said the family often discussed and wonder why MKO is yet to be properly

Acknowledged his honor in Nigeria history by the Nigerian government. However, she believes that does that refused to acknowledged her father his appropriate place in Nigerian history will never and can never be greater than MKO even in death. She said she will deliver the award to the family.

Mr. Ayoola said that it was a great honor and privilege to be chosen to present the first of its international kind of posthumous award to the late father of contemporary democracy in Nigeria and his own hero, MKO. He said the award was long overdue because  MKO lived and died for  the believe in an egalitarian society for  Nigerians and anyone living in Scandinavia can really relate to what MKO courageously stood and died for.

The distortion of Nigeria’s democratic aspiration started with the annulment of the June 12 1993 free and fair elections and since the sad events of 1993, election riggers had perfected the art.

He said that Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election deserve  a proper national and international honor in which APC Scandinavia is the pacesetter in this regards.

The South West region already adopted June 12 as a red day (holiday) but June 12 was a national  issue.

He deserved a Posthumous nation´s highest honor, Grand Commander of the Federal  Republic (GCFR), having won the acclaimed free and fair 1993 presidential elections and laid down his life for the contemporary  democracy in Nigeria.

We are very hopeful that our APC led administration will  build a groundswell of national consensus to do the needful in this respect and put an end to the June 12 saga.

Now is the time to start to celebrate our real and authentic heroes and heroines rather than glamourizing political criminals and pre acted movies stars.
