  • Double Wahala: Controversies trail Sunday eviction results

Several controversies have trailed BBNaija’s Sunday eviction results, as concerns raised from various quarters suggest the results might have been ‘rigged’.

This is the first time the show, which is in its third season, has been accused of tampering with votes for gains and ratings.

Prior to the show, several viewers on Twitter had suggested that they knew what the results were going to be, due to perceived ‘favouritism’ on the part of the organisers.

    A Twitter handle @BBNaija Leaks wrote on Saturday, “So as we promised informing you On This Week Leaked Result;
    1st-Nina
    2nd-Teddy A
    3rd-Cee c
    4th-BamBam

“Which One or Two of the names above would be evicted from the #BBNaija Game.”

Few hours later, the same handle tweeted, “So information just got to us that due to our accurate leaks, Teddy A would be the victim(eviction) of a flipped script tonight ’cause @BBNaija and his crew are trying to save face.”

In response to the trending ‘leaks’, host of the show Ebuka Obi-Uchendu tweeted @Ebuka, “Predictions are not leaks.”

However, on Sunday, the show came under ‘fire’ again when a viewer calculated the votes gotten by each nominated housemates and revealed that they did not add up to hundred per cent.

According to the votes, Nina had 44.00 per cent, CeeC had 24.38 per cent, Teddy A had 16.81 per cent and BamBam gathered 13.37 per cent.

Highlighting the errors, a viewer @ib_Granville tweeted, “See what was wrong with last night’s results
    1) Votes don’t sum up to 100%.
    2) Wrong display, it’s usually in form of a bar chart with their names, not pictures.
    3) That’s not the official portrait for BamBam, a different picture was used.
    @BBNaija ???”

Minutes later, show organisers responded to the queries through their official Instagram handle @bigbronaija, writing: “Dear viewers, an incorrect percentage was published for Nina during this night’s eviction show.

“While we deeply regret this error, we wish to state that the audited and verified percemtage for Nina is 45.44 per cent as opposed to the previously published 44 per cent.

“We thank you for your usual support and understanding,” they said.

Viewers, however, have expressed deep concerns over the authencity of the show results, some fearing that their favorites might be affected.

Despite the apology issued by the show organisers some other viewers have taken to social media to table their disappointments.

@isibor.grace wrote on Instagram, “I hope you won’t make mistake to announce the real winner.”

@joy.oj wrote, “How many other housemates have you done this to? You decided to post this because you were called out for the missing 1.44 per cent. Continue.”

Meanwhile, Nina, CeeC, Tobi, Miracle, Lolu, Anto, Alex, Rico Swavey and Khloe are left to battle for the star prize worth 45 million naira.

  • #BBNaija: I own my space- Cee-C

Cynthia Nwadiora, popularly called Cee-C has disclosed that it is unfair for people to misunderstand her and call her a bully. She however stated that everybody has an opinion, but she has been used to creating a world for herself.

She made this known during the “truth and dare game” in the Big Brother house on Monday.

“I am 25 years old, I have been used to creating a world for myself, and if you want to be my friend, I can allow you in, and if I want to be your friend, I would give signs requesting for friendship. It is unfair that people say that I am a bully.” Cee-C said.

Nina on her part said that she sees herself in the next two years as “a rich business woman.” Speaking on her being bullied, she said “People see Nina as someone that cannot speak for herself, but I can do a lot of things, and I can speak for myself when I have the chance to.”

For returnee housemate, Anto, who hopes to be a commissioner of Sports or women affairs, in Edo State, she said that she is not a confrontational person, but if pushed to the wall, she believes in going physical, “because speaking accent, especially to a Nigerian while arguing can make you look like a fool, so I believe I can fight.

Bambam, sees herself as a safe person. In her words, “I don’t want to be a mess of myself, that is why I am always looking at a camera, my father is an intelligence officer, my mother is a missionary, and so with the background I have,  coming here to misbehave will be a big blow for me.  So if it is an issue for people, especially Tobi, who has always accused me of being fake, they should leave me alone.”

  • Why Bambam, Rico may leave BBNaija tomorrow

Following the exit of Anto from the Big Brother Naija show last Sunday, tension of eviction continues, as another housemate will be sacked during the live eviction show tomorrow.

Recall that The Nation predicted that Anto or Bambam may be evicted last Sunday, going by comments by fans which indicate the popularity of each housemate.

It has been observed that the popularity of Bambam has not improved just like that of her partner, Teddy A. Bambam has been widely criticized for being pretentious, thus, with Anto out, Bambam may likely be the housemate to be evicted tomorrow, unless something unusual happens.

The unusual happened last week when after publishing the results of the votes, it was observed that Lolu scored higher than Teddy A whom some believe is one of the top contenders for the coveted prize of N45 million. Such unusual situation fired by fans of Lolu to improve his chances at the prize, is what Bambam needs to scale through tomorrow’s hurdle.

As it stands, the two housemates with less popularity among fans are Bambam and Rico, whose popularity outside the house has not been so tested.

  • #BBNaija: Tobi, Miracle, Teddy A, others up for eviction

Eight housemates are up for possible eviction , following the dissolution of the `strategic partnership’ by Big Brother.

The housemates up for eviction on Sunday, March 18, include Anto, Cee C, Lolu, Bambam, Tobi, Alex, Teddy A and Miracle.

However all the nominated housemates except Bambam and Cee C received two nominations each during the diary session on Monday night.

Immediate past Head of House (HoH), Bambam, turned out to be the least popular housemate after she received the highest number of votes with Lolu, Tobi, Alex and Nina all nominating her.

Controversial housemate Cee C, received the second highest number of nominations after Rico Swarvey, Alex and Miracle seemed to be displeased with her recent accusations towards Tobi.

Miracle revealed his reason for nominating Cee C in the diary room.

He said; “I nominated Cee C because she made unfair accusations towards Tobi”.

Meanwhile, Alex seems to have taken the eviction of her love interest to heart after crying nonstop all through the day.

Leo’s eviction from the Big Brother house seem to have come at her detriment because fellow housemate Anto, deemed her profuse wailing as immature and worthy of being up for eviction.

“I nominated Alex because she might not be mature enough to handle the N25 million after last night,” Anto said.

High point of Monday activities in the house was the twist in the nomination process.

Big Brother, known for twisting and changing the principle of the game, altered the HoH privileges for the first time in BBNaija “Double Wahala.”

Instead of the typical save and replace and immunity from nominations, the HoH had to rely on a “chance card” that will reveal either options.

Current queen of the house, Nina expressed her disappointment in not getting the full privileges previous HoH’s acquired.

“I am happy to be HoH, but I am sad that I didn’t get all the HoH privileges,” Nina added.

The result of the nominations saw more than three third of the housemates closer to losing the grand prize.

However Nina’s “chance card” revealed that she was immune from nominations making herself and Rico Swarvey the only housemates guaranteed safety for at least another week.

Earlier on Monday, Bambam won the head of house after winning the challenge defeating Alex, Leo and Tobi, granting her and her partner immunity from evictions.

Speaking to Big Brother at the Diary session, she said “I did not see it coming, and I feel blessed to be the head of house.”

The evictions on Sunday will be the last time pairs will be evicted, as it will be an individual race to the ultimate prize from this Sunday on.
