    Barau FC names Iorfa as GM, appoints Baita as VP

    Barau FC has announced two major additions to its executive leadership team. 

    Former Nigerian international and seasoned football administrator Dominic Iorfa has been appointed General Manager, while respected football executive and former Kano Pillars Chairman Alhaji Kabiru Baita joins as Vice President.

    The appointments were confirmed by the President of Barau FC, Shawall Barau Jibrin, as part of the club’s ongoing strategic restructuring in its debut season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

    According to a statement issued by the club’s Media Director, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, the addition of Iorfa and Baita reflects the club’s clear commitment to building a high-performance football institution.

    “Dominic Iorfa brings a wealth of expertise from decades in the Nigerian football scene. His track record in strategic leadership, talent development, and elite performance management makes him an ideal fit to steer our sporting ambitions,” said Shawall Barau Jibrin.

    As General Manager, Iorfa will oversee the technical and operational development of the team, with a focus on strengthening Barau FC’s competitive edge both on and off the pitch.

    In his new role as Vice President, Alhaji Kabiru Baita is expected to play a pivotal role in governance, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. His extensive experience and credibility in Nigerian football will help solidify the club’s foundation for long-term success.

    “Alhaji Baita is a respected figure whose integrity and leadership are widely recognized. His appointment is a significant step in our mission to become a model football club in Nigeria and beyond,” Jibrin added.

    ‎Former Super Eagles player Dominic Iorfa has been appointed as the new General Manager of Barau FC, a team competing in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

    ‎The 56-year-old has a wealth of experience in the league, having previously served in the same capacity at Lobi Stars for three consecutive seasons. He concluded his tenure there at the end of the 2022/23 season, bringing valuable insights and expertise to his new role.

    ‎Barau FC is particularly excited about Iorfa’s appointment as the club is making its debut in the NPFL this season. His extensive knowledge of the league dynamics, player development, and team management is expected to play a crucial role in guiding the team through this challenging transition into top-flight football.

    ‎In addition to Iorfa’s appointment, Kabiru Baita has been named the Vice President of the Kano-based club. This leadership change signifies Barau FC’s commitment to building a strong foundation as they navigate their first season in the NPFL.

    ‎Despite the enthusiasm surrounding their new leadership, it is noteworthy that Barau FC has yet to secure a victory in the league this season. The team will be looking to turn their fortunes around under the guidance of Iorfa and Baita in the coming matches.

    Barau FC names Bosso New Technical Adviser

    Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)  side, Barau FC,  have announced the appointment of coach Isa  Ladan Bosso as their new Technical Adviser ahead of their debut appearance in the topflight.

    “Barau FC is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with highly respected coach Isa Ladan Bosso to become the club’s new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season,” the club media wrote.

    Bosso, a vastly experienced tactician and former Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, brings a wealth of knowledge and topflight experience to the newly promoted Kano-based side.

    Bosso most recently steered Bayelsa United to safety in the 2024/2025 NPFL season, securing the club’s survival before the final two rounds of fixtures—a testament to his tactical acumen and leadership under pressure. His appointment signals Barau FC’s ambition to not only compete but also establish a solid foundation in the league.

    The veteran coach has previously managed top clubs in the NPFL including Kano Pillars, Abia Warriors, Sunshine Stars, and Gombe United, and is well respected for his player development record and ability to transform teams.

    Owned by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Ibrahim Jibrin, Barau FC’s rise from grassroots football to the NPFL has been swift and impressive. The appointment of Coach Ladan Bosso marks a significant step in the club’s journey as it aims to write a new chapter in Kano football.

    NNL Super 8: Rabiu Tata targets  NPFL ticket  with Barau FC

    Barau FC head coach Rabiu Tata is delighted with his boys’ goalless draw against Wikki Tourists in their NNL Super 8 playoff tie played on Monday.

    Tata, a former player of Kano Pillars affirmed that with that important draw they have their sights fixed on victory over Doma United at the Jay Jay Okocha Stadium, Ogwuashi Uku on Thursday.

    The coach refused to dwell on officiating at the playoff but noted that Barau FC objective was  to seal that historic ticket to the topflight.

    “Honestly speaking I can’t express the way I am feeling today because with these two points our chance of qualifying for the NPFL is very bright.

    “All matches are crucial. I didn’t see anything wrong about the officiating in the second half.

    “We are expecting all three points in our last game.”
