    It’s not time to celebrate, Biffo warns

    Abia Warriors technical adviser, Abdullahi Biffo has warned his wards not to get carried away with week 33 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) result against Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries  FC.

    The Umuahia-based side forced MFM to a goalless draw in a league game at the Agege Stadium on Monday to brighten their chances of escaping relegation.

    In a chat with SportingLife, Biffo said one point in the match was like three points to his team.

    “It was a good result  and one point is like three points to us considering our position on the league table. This is a very good advantage for us and what we need now is to work very hard and get more points in our remaining matches. It is not yet time for us to celebrate. We have another vital game against FC Ifeanyi Ubah and after that game we can now assess ourself. As I said this result is very good to our aspiration. It is not yet time to celebrate. I am okay with my team. It is a learning process, the more we play the more we discover our mistakes and we make necessary correction. No team is perfect,” Biffo told SportingLife.

    The former Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna also admitted that the pitch affected both teams.

    “The pitch affected both teams because in the first half both teams were unable to make four passes. I have an attacking team and anywhere we play we always look for goals,” he said.

    BFUT LICENSE LEVEL 1 COURSE: Biffo storms USA in September

    SportingLife can exclusively report that Niger Tornadoes technical adviser, Abdullahi Usman Biffo will travel to United State of America in September for BFUT – Instituto Brasileiro de Futebol License level 1.

    The two-week programme will be held in Juno Beach, Fl, USA from September 13 to 25th, 2016.

    According to letter of confirmation which was signed by the President and Director of Education, Jose Thadeu Goncalves and a copy was exclusively obtained by SportingLife, revealed that Biffo would be thought on how to provide the highest level of training –developing speed of thought, reaction, improvisation and decision- making; implementation of all the physical capacities including: body coordination, agility, elasticity, and fast reaction and development of all the 12 technical abilities and its 4 phases.

    He will also be guided on improvement of the 4 individual player abilities (peripheral vision, use both feet, understanding of how to defend and attack, and application of inside and outside penetration); the development of tactical systems, schemes and strategies, player leadership, self-esteem, patience and leadership as well as how to provide a future soccer career guidance (college and/or professional).

    The former Kogi United manager was in Sao Paulo, Brazil last year October for the BFUT level 1 license.

    Biffo said the programme would afford him the opportunity to develop him as a coach as he  promised to use the knowledge obtain there to develop football in Nigeria.

    “I was so excited when I got the letter that I am qualified to do license 1 in USA, Florida. This will go a long way to develop me as coach. The level 2 license I did last year has exposed me to new trend in football. This level 1 will give me the whole Brazilian philosophy because they believe in metal speed of football.

    “I would be able to use the knowledge acquire there to develop football in Nigeria. I have made it mandatory to myself to do refresher courses every season. The next season will be in UEFA training in England so as to combine South Amerian and UEFA philosophy to improve my coaching capacity. I am really grateful to those that were part of my development since 2005 when I started coaching,” Biffo told SportingLife.

    Niger Tornadoes Technical Adviser Abdullahi Biffo has urged his players not to play under pressure when they face Rivers United in a match day six Nigeria Professional Football League at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja today.

    Biffo in a chat with SportingLife said the management and their fans deserve decent result as he promised that the boys will do everything possible to get maximum three points at stake in the match.

    The former Giwa FC of Jos manager stressed that his boys are in right frame of mind for the match but want them to take their chances against the Port-Harcourt-based outfit.

    “Our management deserves decent result. We got all the support from the management and no better time than now to start recording decent result to make them do more for the team. We are going to do everything possible to get our maximum there points against Rivers United. We want to avoid planning every match with pressure,” Biffo told SportingLife.

    Former Giwa United head coach Abdullahi Biffo is a target of not less than four clubs, SportingLife can reveal.

    The Kwara-state born tactician was in charge of Kogi United last season but he has since dumpped the club on a mutual agreement which made him available for offers.

    A source desclosed to SportingLife that two premier league clubs and two clubs from the Nigeria National League (NNL) are battling to secure Biffo services for the next football season.

    When contacted over the move, Biffo told SportingLife that he is ready to do business with any serious club.

    He also confirmed that he has left Kogi United.

    “Well, I cannot reveal anything concerning clubs looking for me now. All I can say now is that I am no more with Kogi United and I am available for any interested clubs. So If I receive good offers and good condition of work I will concider the move. I thanked the management of kogi United for oppotunity given to me to serve their club,” Biffo told SportingLife.

    Biffo had in the past coached clubs like Kwara United, FC Taraba, Sec Abuja, Remo Stars.

    Biffo has jus finished his degree course in Phisical and Health Education at the Ado Ekiti University.

    Biffo targets league promotion for Kogi Utd

    The new Technical Adviser of Kogi United Abdullahi Abidemi Biffo has revealed plans for his new club as he targets quick promotion to the Glo Premier League for the Idris Wada Boys.

    Biffo was appointed on Thursday by the management of the Nigeria National League (NNL) side, to replace former handler Fatai Osho.

    Biffo’s appointment was ratified following the indefinite suspension placed on Osho in April.

    In a chat with SportingLife after his appointment, Biffo said an enabling environment has been created for him to work with.

    The former Giwa FC manager said he is happy with the offers he signed with Kogi United.

    SportingLife understands that Biffo had series of offers from four clubs before deciding to settle  for Kogi United.

    “My target for the club is not different from the management’s goal and objective  which is to lead the team to the premier league next season. The sole administrator is not new to me. I have known him since his days at ABS. He is a result oriented administrator and  always in support of the team for required results. When I received a call from him I could not just say no despite the fact that there were interest from other clubs,” Biffo told SportingLife.

    The Ilorin-born coach is expected to be unveiled to the club’s supporters in Lokoja today.

    “The preparation for the challenge has started already and all I want is cooperation from everybody. I am already in Lokoja and I am feeling at home already. There is no league match this weekend and I will use the break to familiarise with the players. We hope to have a good family.”

    Biffo has however heaped praises on his former employer, Giwa FC for the opportunity giving him to work with the club.

    “Giwa FC will forever remain in my mind. I want to thank the chairman of the club Ambassador, Chris Giwa for the opportunity he gave me to work with the club. I owe him a lot. This is a team I serve for two good years and I want to say that I really enjoy my stay there with the cooperation of everybody. I want to wish the team well and success. The Chairman, fan and my players’ I left behind.”

    Biffo helped Giwa FC gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier League last season after two season campaign at the lower cadre.  He had worked with Ondo United, SEC Abuja, FC Taraba, Kwara United, FC Dender (now Remo Stars) and Giwa FC.
