    I wrote music for 15 months before entering a studio, says Black Sherif

    Ghanaian hip-hop star Black Sherif has opened up about how he wrote music for 15 months before stepping his feet in a musical booth cum recording studio.

    In a recent conversation on Apple Music 1, Black Sherif, who has a new single, ‘Sacrifice,’ and a new album, ‘IRON BOY,’ narrated how he found his place in music at a young age, and how having a strong creative team has driven his success.

    He said, “Since childhood, I’ve been an artist. I didn’t have my voice on wax or anything, but I was exploring everything that was interesting, in the most artistic way. We used to do bike rides—BMX freestyles—and go dance at weddings on the weekends.

    “It was just figuring out what I wanted to follow within entertainment. That was when I started writing music, for 15 months, before going to the studio for the first time. Then coming out of high school, I tried to follow this thing by really hustling it!”

    The 24-year-old singer was born Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, but now known as Black Sherif after dumping his previous Blacko. Black Sherif is a singer, rapper and fashion model. He initially gained popularity in 2021 with his song “First Sermon,” which he released in May 2021.

    I’m happy Nigeria lost AFCON final – Black Sherif

    Ghanaian singer and rapper, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, popularly known as Black Sherif, has exuded joy over the defeat of Super Eagles by hosts Ivory Coast.

    He said he was happy Nigeria lost because some of his Nigerian colleagues called to mock him when the Black Stars of Ghana exited the competition in the group stage.

    Black Sherif vowed to continue trolling Nigeria over the AFCON loss.

    On his X handle, he wrote: “Blaqbonez called me on Facetime to laugh at me when my country’s Black Stars was sent home, the guy couldn’t stop smiling. Odumodu was on Facetime the next 3 days telling the Jeweller to make me the cheapest piece he’s ever made, And na me call am for the Jeweller o! You want me to shut up? I’m going to bed. We go again this afternoon. Super Eagles! you do this one.”

    Why I want to suspend music for education – Ghanaian singer Black Sherif

    Popular Ghanaian singer and rapper, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, popularly known as Black Sherif, has decided to go back to school to acquire more knowledge. 

    The 21-year-old said that education is the reason he wants to get music out of the way after releasing his sophomore album.

    Black said he wants to go back to school to learn clothing.

    The ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ crooner wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) handle: “I need to get this album out and go back to school to learn how to make clothes.”

    Black Sherif gained popularity in 2021 with his song ‘First Sermon,’ which he released that May.

    The song’s sequel, ‘Second Sermon,’ was released in July and received a remix with Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy.
